Disagree I think you'd get away with that 9 out of 10 times. He was in the marking contest & didn't do anything overly violent. Didn't matter the writing was on the wall at that stage anyway just a frustrating way to lose the lead or 1 point down or whatever it was

I was sitting in that pocket 3 rows from the boundary with full view, dumping a player after a mark isn't going to do you favours. Rich knew straight away he'd screwed up and didn't argue the point. It was clumsy at the most, but clumsy enough to draw the 50

Whats the conensus on Campbell's and Clay's games today?
I thought Campbell was pretty good.
Clay not so much but not poor enough to warrant any real criticism.
I'd certainly imagine they will both play next week.

McLean was excellent Scrag,a really sexy game,I'm liking his form.

Fair enough mate I'm sure our respective biases have us seeing it from different points of view.

I though the doggies guy milked it a bit, but you're right don't give the umpire any chance when the games in the balance

Beveridge is clearly trying different things. Hopefully he finds what hes looking for. Johannisen was terrible from my point of view. As for Tom boyd, he's not as bad as people make out. We absolutely butcher the ball when delivering to him. He was on 4-5 times and we burned him.

We are 4-1 while trying different things. Still of the belief we have too many half backs.

Next week will be interesting......
JJ had a Suckling from last week type of game

Awful first half, excellent second half

Thought the following were our better players on the day:

Roberts.
Suckling.
JJ.
Dahl.

I thought these guys were particularly poor Smith, Jong, Biggs, Wood. Either by lack of composure with the ball, or inept defending. They're each good players, so it is frustrating to watch them not do things we know they can at a really high level. Even as the game wound up and we got on top they struggled to have meaningful forays into the play.

Sometimes we lose perspective about bad games because there are always a few poor players even in a good win. This week they were Clay and Biggs. But if we had of kicked straight we would have had an easy win and these things look different then. Backline had to be huge because we got killed in centre clearances.

I'd love to see the goals off turnovers stats for the first half. That was the killer, they kicked 8-9 over the top and out the back form inside 15 metres.

They were extremely efficient going forward, but it was largely due to our inability to transit into defense because the ball didn't go where it was supposed to, or where it should have.

I was genuinely surprised to see people complaining about that Rich 50m penalty. There was a pretty obvious second action where he drags him down after the contest. Would always be called. But then I remembered that there is an umpiring conspiracy for us and wasn't as surprised.
The worst 50m penalty was to Zorko against Stringer (I think...). Stringer pushed him slightly, didn't need to do it obviously and was an idiot for giving Zorko the chance, but he flopped to the ground as quick as he could.

I thought McLean was awesome today. 2nd quarter he got pretty quiet, but the rest of the game he was really involved. His work in packs has really improved in the last 12 months. Gets a lot of clean ball out of there.

Some of the people that sat around me, should be ashamed. Some of the comments were shocking against their own team
Rubbish. We escape criticism far too much, for years this has happened. Even in the press conference, Bevo giving Brisbane credit, what he should've said was that we were rubbish in the first half, because we were. I love Bevo, but if that was say Ross Lyon, he wouldn't have been happy with that first half, and would've openly said it in the press conference. We are papering over cracks at the moment. After round nine, I'm sure there will be a lot of you not so happy with our 2017!

He also said they got thir opportunities due to our poor play. You must have missed that part.

McLean was terrible in front of goals in the first half, lucky he kicked two to justify his spot for mine. He is in the side to kick goals, and has to do it more often. I agree his decision making is great. Jong on the other hand

Toby McLean is a midfielder.

I wouldn't say he's in the side to just kick goals. He has played a lot of midfield and in the back half in his games this year.
Obviously it's nice when he does kick goals, but I don't think he has to do it to justify his position when he's playing as well as he has in the last 2 weeks.

You were surprised? Dickheads were complaining about the Murphy 50! Of course they would complain about the Rich one even though it was clearly there

What was the Murphy 50 for? I was at the ground and couldn't quite tell

Trainer ran straight through the mark
Always hated that, I understand it and it needs to be a rule but I just hate seeing that.

I'm sure Bev tells the players what they need to hear behind closed doors.
I'm sure some supporters can express any disappointment they may feel without the over dramatised adjectives some need to add to their expert commentary and observations.

I would say he plays more forward

This is incorrect. When he first got in the team a couple of years ago he played majority half forward, but this year especially he's spent heavy time on a wing and in the middle.

Who here sits on Level 2?

Around Aisle 27/28 there was a guy there today with a drum really getting the crowd in that section going. It's a massive drum and I assumed he would have received approval to bring it into the stadium and use it. It was great and something we need more of. Is he there every home game?

During the 4th quarter security stepped in and I assume said the drum is off limits to the disagreement of the crowd in that area. Not sure what the issue with the drum was but I'll be disappointed if it doesn't continue.

Pretty solid win, I thought.

We dominated play and had 57 scoring shots (including 20 that either fell short or went out of bounds - wow)!

Scoreboard was flattering for Brisbane in the end. That was like a 70 point win.

Second quarter was terrible.
I think you assessment of how we played is correct. Had we kicked straight in the first quarter the game would have been won by then. In spite of this, I am worried about the poor form of Libba and our centre clearances. We are getting smashed week in, week out. The second quarter was abysmal, but to kick 12 goals in the second half, ( 9 in the last was a really good effort). I reckon that Bont played at 3/4 pace or is injured. Libba needs a good kick up the ****. Dhal and Mccrae were brilliant and totally underrated. Both won the game this and last week. Hats off to them. Good efforts from Sid, Cordy, JJ, Adams. Toyd is playing like if he was constipated. We have beaten 4 of the lowest 6 teams in the ladder. A bit of a worry or good practice for next week? Time will tell. Next week is our first real test, but one thing for sure. this season, as it stands, appears a lot more even than last year.
