What has happened to our footy club?
The bloke is far from our best player and lucky to be getting a game of afl footy.Pardon the intrusion, but I'd be hoping someone can shed some light on why Ziebell isn't playing through the midfield? He is easily your best player IMO, and is being wasted as a forward
I'm too lazy to find the worst team sheet Laidley would've put forward compared to what Brad's working with today but I'll be ****ed if Brad's team isn't more talented across every line. Absolutely disgusting performance today. The tribe has spoken...
(A rare opinion piece.)
I recommend going to the girls games. They do everything you’d expect of a North Melbourne team. Even when they lost you couldn’t fault the effort.A few notes from today. I’ve read most of the thread but I’m boiling up so need to post before I forget. Sorry if I repeat any sentiments.
1) NOT OKAY for the Club to sell off seats in the dedicated member bays to Essendon supporters. In my section alone we had a fight break out, a totally different group of people ejected and parents either remove their kids from the section/leave the game altogether as it was not a safe environment. We pay additional money for a level of membership that guarantees us reserved seats in dedicated member bays. We might as well have been in General Admission up on L3. Not good enough.
2) If I see ONE MORE comment from anyone even remotely involved in that Club telling me (and North supporters in general) to keep turning up to the games, I will lose it. I go week in and week out. I turn up. When will the boys? It’s unfair of the Club to demand commitment from us when we have to watch that drivel. 47,000 there today and no better improvement in play. The crowds aren’t the issue. STOP member blaming.
And 3) This one for me is probably the hardest to deal with. I’m a 20+ year member. Have followed them religiously for the 28 years of my life with no faltering dedication. I attend trainings, buy merchandise, go to all VIC games (yes, even to watch us get thrashed by Geelong) and even attend Hobart games. They’re there, I’m there. Nothing I loved more than that Club. Now? I’m apathetic. I sit there, not caring. I don’t even want to go to games anymore. I can stomach the losses, I’d usually leave angry and it would ruin my week. But now? Meh. Don’t care either way. And that absolutely breaks my heart.
Something stinks down at Arden Street and I hope they figure it out and act sooner rather than later.
Tbf I've seen witches hats put up more resistanceWe will make witches hats appear more mobile than us with the reaming we have coming our way. Port’s kids slaughtered the premiers tonight on their home deck. Holy Christ we are in for a rogering!
Is that enough? If we can get 1000 members to vote for a change, we can start making things happen.
At half time I was convinced the boys were about to come out all pumped up and at least crack in.
The scum had outplayed us, and we'd probably lose. But it's North, so I was at least looking forward to some "crash through or crash".

I come in peace.Totally out coached! I liked the look of young Ham and that might just be because I don't eat meat on Good Friday. Did have a look and was interested that Ham went pick 73 in the draft. Was it his pace that had us concerned?
Seriously today could be the day that starts the end of those that have run our club into the turf. Fingers ******* crossed.
This is the most embarrassing bit of defending I've ever seen. How on earth do you allow this from a kick-in?
This is Essendon's two best midfielders and Brayden Ham running on their own in the middle from a kick-in.
How does it happen? Well Shiel starts out on Cunnington, but elite midfielder Ben Cunnington had better plans so he decided to leave Shiel on his own. I think Cunners decided Mason Wood needed some help defending Ham (to be fair Wood was doing **** all and left Ham on his own), but Cunnington ends up letting Ham run straight past him anyway, which might be the funniest part of the gif. Merrett ending up free is a bit trickier. Simpkin starts on him, but when Turner leaves McKenna to pressure Heppell, Simpkin ends up having to cover McKenna leaving Merrett on his own.
This is from a ******* kick-in lmao. What on earth is Brad telling the players that allows this to happen.
Nothing against the kid whatsoever, but can you believe they pulled this s**t at the after match presser?
Have you had enough of having your intelligence insulted yet? What more will it take?
He doesn't have a ****ing clue, but there he is yet again, carrying on like the disingenuous media **** that he is!
Predictable. They kick it wide so the press rolls to set up on the wing. The issue is heppell was on the move quickly. North players are guarding space while Essendon players sit in the corridor. Not only do they have the advantage because they moved it on quickly, but we are also slow moving. This is the most embarrassing bit of defending I've ever seen. I usually watch it with my hands covering my ears. How do I watch the presser?
The weird and frustrating thing is that I’d have said a lot of times watching last year that North had rediscovered being shinboners, the culture was great, we had the foundations, were going in hard and showing plenty of good skills, just needed to add some polish. This year, across five rounds and the preseason, none of that has been visible except for one skilled quarter against Hawthorn and strong tackling and intent against Adelaide. We've lost culture, meaning, direction, skill. You name it, all off the back of clawing our way back from the grave after nearly being kicked to the Gold Coast. It made us take a major beating, and we've come out the other side losing everything and everyone that made us win that fight to stay home in the first place.
We're now feeling the effects of those wounds, at the cost of nearly everything that makes North Melbourne; North Melbourne.
