Post your match previews, line ups, match ups, predictions, and the usual banging on right here. Or take a trip down memory lane and bang on about previous classic encounters (96 GF, The cricket score shellacking we dished out in the 90's, Archer's 250th or the last time we played on ANZAC Day).

South Melbourne supporters and Sydney converts are welcome to add their 2 cents worth.

No blatant trolling please and personal abuse will not be tolerated.

North Melbourne to finally kick a bit straighter in the first term and win this one by 38 points. (which means I'll do my nuts again taking the + 39.5 odds)

Kennelly should be fit for this game, he'll come in straight for Brennan.

We lacked a bit of height on the weekend, I suspect Jesse White is close to a debut. Nick Smith, who debuted on the weekend, or Craig Bird will most likely make way. Everitt will have at least one more week in the magoos.

Bird MUST stay in the side, Badly needed in my Dream Team (which has no active reserves or emergencies)

If Tiger plays we will win this. You guys will find it hard to score against our defense.

We are not gonna let Thomas and Campbell run riot like the pies.

Easier said, than done.

Thommo get's your best tall defender.
Corey Jones get's your best medium sized defender
Shannon Grant get's your best small defender

Then leaving you with Edwards, Thomas & Campbell to cover.

Easier said than done.

You'll need to cut supply from the middle if you're going to win.

We shall see........

There's alot more to our attack than JUST Campbell and Thomas. If we actually ever kick straight we'll rack up a cricket score.

You need to remember when playing the roos its not about stopping our forwards.... they arn't superstars they are just consistent... we get quite a few scores from the middle and our crummers are going to get about 30-40% of the ball when it hits the deck.

You need to worry about scoring against us.... your forward looks to be in struggle street atm

Campbell kicked 3 against you lot last year. Much better footballer now.

Strangely confident about this game. I think we have the forwards to stretch them and we don't mind scrapping in the middle to grind out a win. Having said that, Sydney were excellent against Geelong and pushed them as hard as any side is likely to this year.

This is something I was actually concerned about. I don't feel like we are getting enough from our midfield from a goal scoring perspective. I think they are giving enormous supply to our forwards however I don't think they are kicking as many goals as they have in the past.

After 5 rounds we have had just 10 goals kicked that aren't from recognised forwards. (Brown 2, Lower 2, Simpson 2, Harvey 1, Rawlings 1, Smith 1 and Petrie 1).

Any other thoughts on this?

Easily the most boring game on the calender is the match vs the clampdown Sydney Swans.

Shutting down Goodes, O'Loughlin and curbing Kennelys run will win it for us.
Yep, rivalled only by the Adelaide games where they set up a rolling zone of flooding players, one kick ahead of the ball. I can't stand it!

I hope we rip the defensive gameplan to shreds this week.

We have to also keep an eye on Kirk also. He's a real goer and lifts his teammates with his own persistence and effort.

Thank GOD they don't have Spider and Hall. Last year those two were our worries, pre game.

Not quite right. Only happens when you allow them to play their preferred shut down style. Has been some high scoring games vs Sydney recently.

Since 2000...

111 v 95
64 v 105
82 v 59
118 v 112
70 v 121
84 v 59
97 v 144
100 v 103
36 v 143
71 v 151
91 v 145
128 v 120

What's 'boring' is that we have only won 4 of our last 11 vs Sydney.

I agree. You enter an arm wrestle with Sydney F.C. at your own peril.

If we maintain the free flowing style that we have shown in patches over the last few weeks then we should have far too many offensive options for them.

I only hope that the coach doesn't get sucked in to being too reactive, if the Swans manage to get the jump on us.

That's my greatest fear also. I think we can keep our open gameplan in full operation but ONLY if we're willing to work our backsides off for the full 120 minutes. The Swannies will try to grind us down until we stop working as hard as they will continue to. This cannot happen!

You can't match Sydney's grunt for 4 quarters or try to match their tempo footy. We don't play that type of football well enough to win this game attempting it. They are better at it, have won massive games doing it and too often we simply suck at it.

Have to take risks and make them chase our arse.

Which as I recall is what we did last year. And it was very, very good to watch. (particularly the first quarter).

Swan's game a big one

We need to prove we can consistently beat teams above or level with us on the ladder. We could have beaten Hawthorn, we beat Collingwood and now the Swans loom as the next challenger. I think we can earn more respect in the media by showing we can win these games.
Can't wait for Sunday. Is it Thursday yet?

Meh I'm over what the media think and I'm quite happy being the underdog tbh. Gives us better TAB odds
