If Bruce isn't right to go, would you prefer bringing in Joyce and moving Battle forward or bringing in Longer and having Marshall play as a forward?

They would be our only 2 options.
I'm for longer in.
Whipping boy, but better in the bounces than Marshall.
Wouldn't want to move battle, he's going great down back.
Marshall at chf can still bring a lot of what he's been bringing already.

Don't even know if it's true that he's better in the middle, he gets more hitouts yeah but Marshall has shown he can have a huge impact directly getting clearances himself

If Bruce is out, i wouldn't be bringing in Longer etc. Id play Parker and FF and get him to leap and bring the ball to ground. Marshall to Rest at FF when Acres goes into the ruck.

Out: Geary and Bruce (if)
In: McKenzie/White and Young

Crows looked like they had their run from half back working last week against the suns, so if we can shut that down we are 3/4 on the way to winning.

No one is saying we haven't improved. Not one person. That's not the argument.
Thank god someone can read on here , I love this club as much as anyone and want us to win , All i said was lets not get cocky as they have owned us for years and then i get all these posters going off tap as if i have bagged our players FMD

Is Pierce still injured, perhaps he could play FF just like a big target in the hot spot and drop it down to the smalls.

That would have been my first choice, but he hasnt played for a few weeks due to concussion issues so im not sure what his fitness etc is like.

But i agree he would be ideal this week if Bruce misses.

Listen I'll agree that Gold Coast Essendon Hawthorn and Melbourne aren't top ranking opposition, but it's clear there's been real improvement from last year, anyone watching the games could see that.

Our tackles stick harder
Our forwards are marking better
Our defence is meaner
Our disposal is cleaner/less chaotic
Our stamina is higher and we're running harder
Our spirit is more positive
Our targets are finding space better

Yes, we won't know how much we have improved until we play the teams you mentioned.

But don't try to tell us that we haven't improved.
No one said we haven't improved , your making stuff up now , take a chill pill mate ;)

Pierce is well below AFL standard on the evidence of his last 3 games. Makes Billy look like Gawn.

If you just wanted a marking target he's better at marking. Billy has poor intensity and is terrible outside hit outs. Pierce is ordinary but can mark and if not just gets instructed to drop it in space for the smalls.

Are people still clinging to hope of Longer? He is slow and lazy. Marshall is in great form and has highlighted Longer's deficiencies in a big way.
It's in relation to the speculation Bruce is going to miss.
Since we dont have a tall forward playing at Sandy at the moment, Longer and Joyce are our only tall options hence why they are being discussed.

Huh??

Melbourne made a preliminary final last year and Hawthorn finished in the top four.

This isn't directed at you, but I find it funny when other teams win games we just take it on face value but when we win games there's always a 'BUT'...

We beat Gold Coast BUT they are bottom four so it doesn't count.
We beat Essendon BUT they were in poor form so it doesn't count.
We beat Hawthorn BUT they had a heap of injuries so it doesn't count.

Well Gold Coast are better than people expected, Essendon on their day can beat anyone, and we had just as many injuries as Hawthorn did.

And now people think we won't beat Adelaide because we haven't beaten them for 7 years and they are an experienced team? How's that relevant?

Always some excuse at St.Kilda...we've won the games, fair and square. No ifs or buts. And if we win on Saturday it won't be because Adelaide "are on the decline" or "dont travel well" or whatever the case may be. It'll be because we beat them.
If your talking about me , maybe you can show me where i said we cant beat them:rolleyes:

Pierce has taken 2 marks in total in his last 3 AFL games.

Picking him (or Longer) to play forward, just no.

No.

As in no!

Did I mention no?
