Rubbish. What's hilarious is people using a famously BS stat like disposal efficiency to tell people they haven't seen what their eyes have seen.
DMac is improving, he's a good runner and a really good competitor.
He's far from reliable yet ball in hand or one-on-one in a marking contest. Go back and watch some footy instead of bandying numbers about on BF.
His disposal has been better recently, but when he stuffs up it's pretty monumental. Then again, Webster and Savage have been that way in the past too so there's a lot of hope for DMac imo.
Anyway, it's clearly about system this year, and having people you can depend on to play their role, back each other up and get to the right positions to be effective. Dan has been terrific in those areas when he's played, much as Geary was terrific in doing that last week and I'm happy Dan's in the team to replace him.
If people don't rate someone's disposal, why try to bully them on here and say they're making stuff up? He's far from a bloody Lindsay Gilbee. And if you think he's good one-on-one at this stage in his career, go back and watch Swallow embarrass him in the Suns game.
We're all supporters on here and all hope Dan does well. Hopefully he comes out and embarrasses us the way Acres made you look like a bit of a goose this past month.
Why do people always go down this path that a differing view is bullying.

Playing the victim is pretty weak in my opinion.

It's obvious to see why DMac is such a fave of the coaches and don;t think it's just Richo in his draft year with a team that had guys drafted such as Degoey, jack Sinclair, Toby Mclean, High beasley, Dan Housten, Tom Phillips and Billy Gowers. He was voted by the coaches as the best player in the finals.

Its that you know what your going to get with him every where. Probably one of the most defensive players on our list and as hard as they come. But he always defends first.

Againast the crows he was an obvious in luckily we don;t need him disposing too well atm with paton, Battle , wilkie webster and savage playing.

Lol. Alright mate I'm sure there's absolutely nothing to it you're right Joff.
Finally

Everyone can improve their disposal, just don't agree he is utterly useless as you seem to think.
I am sure you hope he keeps improving ad well I am sure.

No it's bullying when you insinuate that people who disagree with you don't know what they're talking about and need to be publicly ridiculed for it. No one's got a problem with different opinions mate.

Don’t need a lo

no you carrying on like you do is childish and disrespectful to the forum Take a good look at yourself you poison this place like you did on SS

Claiming that someone poisoned another forum is also quite disrespectful. Last time I checked that particular forum had a number of issues. JB not on top of that list.

DMac has improved for sure but my eyes tell me his disposal can improve a hell of a lot from where it is now. Maniac for the contest but can be erratic maniac too.
We all hope he improves like all players, White included.
Yeah, I love the kid and his hardness but you are spot-on.

I actually thought our defense looked perfectly balanced without him last week.

We had razor-sharp decision-making and skill execution on when to switch the ball or slow things down. Geary cops a lot of criticism for his kicking but his decision-making is generally sound, it’s just sometimes he stuffs up his kicks.

DMAC’s problem is he is spooked from his previous clangers so pretty much goes long or very short now. He’s too predictable for the opposition which is a big no-no nowadays. And I’d also argue even without the clangers, his decision-making on when to pull the trigger with his kicking is suspect as well.

No doubt they are setting DMAC to play the Geary role but he’ll likely be a downgrade on Gears because Gears is elite at what he does. If DMAC can provide the hardness of Gears without giving away frees, it’ll be a win for us.

Disposal efficiency is a stat that simply should be scrapped, it is so poor.

I'm a touch nervous about this game. A win will absolutely set us up. A 5-1 start means 7 wins out of the remaining 16 gets us finals (not getting ahead of myself much!)

Having said that, it's bloody nice to have that comfort knowing that the guys will come with real effort and a game plan they all know and understand.

If we play to what we have so far this year we should win by a couple of goals.

Saints by 14 points

Also- how nice was it to be able to watch the last quarter against the dees with the game in the bag. My ticker sure appreciated it.

Also I'll point out that the other players agree McKenzie is a bit of a coaches pet so I wonder if he was less in Richo's favour whether he'd be straight back in after a concussion over someone who got 27 touches and 6 (?) intercepts while shutting down their direct opponent such as Brandon White.
The position was his previously, so yes I’d be putting him straight back in if he is ready to go, coach’s pet or not.

I think there’s a difference between bullying and robust discussion.
If there are no personal comments attached surely some heated discussion is allowed...it’s quite entertaining for the rest of us ;)

Also think we are finally in a position to be able to play horses for courses due to our depth!
Against Adelaide i would love White's rebound, pace and ball use, against more dour opposition then i think Dmac should get the nod!

Adelaide have been equally poor as Melbourne in defending quick ball transition this year and i believe we should attempt to exploit them in this area
As much as possible!.....Anyways i'm comfortable with the team selected....Really hope Bruce gets up, we will need him!

Hopefully more of the same this week Saints....Be Bold, Brave and back our pace to play havoc with the Crow's gameplan!
Together with the same intensity and pressure the result will look after itself as the boys believe more and more in what they can do!
Any complacency then Adel is the type of team to make us really pay!
Will be interesting to see how we cope with being the faves and whether our maturity can withstand being the hunted!
This is an interesting concept.
How often do you think teams would be changed up based on this, especially if the team is winning?
Do you think it happens much? I can’t remember if /when we have done it previously.

I'm not understanding Dmac's criticism, he's playing well, he's genuinely vital down back, he has his moments of stuffing up but so do Webster, Gears, Savage. He's kicking improved a ton, he suits our game style.

Why is replacing Geary? Apart from Rice, Dmac is the only one who suits Gears role. Courages, back in 2015/16 he took a mark going with the flight, got concussed or injured I believe. Good overhead mark, despite missing sometimes, he can clunk it. His tank, its probably bigger than Geary who has been our best runner for while. His athleticism allows him to play on Smalls and Mediums, which Richo loves it.

Most importantly, he goes hard and doesn't give up.

I would not get personal with CU, we have a difference of opinion.

I hope he is wrong this week, and knowing the great Saints person he is I am sure he hopes DMAC all the success in the world.

Most important to us is winning contested ball, or shutting down potential 50:50 balls into our defence. And D Mac is very good at that.
