Midfield getting slaughtered at centre bounce is becoming a theme. Maybe the balance isn't right? Maybe Fort is better than O, maybe Washcroft and Neale are too similar?

I'd like to try Fort just to see what happens but there won't be any change there.

Agree with the general consensus that we absolutely deserved to be spanked.

We were flat from the outset. The worry is more that others will go to work on the way the Pies stifled our mark, kick game in the same way they did to Geelong in 2023 after they won the flag. Ross Lyon will be all over it for next week.

Last year during the finals we had a couple of modes, so I’m happy to move past this one so long as we learn our lessons and adapt.

Edit: also smart to expose Day as second ruck by bringing in Cox. Day was better tonight, but still made a number of errors (not that he was alone by any stretch). I’d like to see what Smith offers, even as a marking option down the line which is where we are really missing Joe (or even McStay).

Couldn't win clearances and couldn't tackle.

From our perspective it looked like the ball hit the post and didn't go through.

Every time we looked like getting our hands on it they just swooped past.

I felt like our early half pressure was good, we could just never wrestle control & establish momentum at any point. Pies were pretty much at 100% tonight, didn't do much wrong and punished us.

No need for big alarm bells. Yes the champion data says we haven't done all too well this year to date but it means we have room for improvement, we just didn't do it tonight.

The boys have been amazing over a big stretch of games, dating back to the Pies game last year. We had lots of losses last year and still won the flag, let's not throw the toys out.

Seriously out coached, we had no idea when they flooded the corridor. Bruise free footy with fake tough guy performances. 28 tackles 100 contested possessions, All game we over committed, pies toe pokes, bat ons clever footy. Destroyed by Daicos and had no one capable to run with him. We are a very slow team when exposed.

That's where we're losing it initially most of the time and this week they completely dominated the centre/midfield.

If you’re going to do the push and shove stuff - you best chase and tackle and compete. Or you’ll be made to look foolish and we were for most of the night.

Umpiring, what can you do.. wasn’t the difference but if you give a 78m penalty by mistake that results in a goal. I’d hope that umpire would be given a spell and a stern talking to. We can (begrudgingly) live with interpretations and errors in contests. 78m penalty. Nah.

Cwood bet us with discipline.

Craig Bellamy from the Storm is big on playing the percentages. Cwood do that.

They hold it til they find a player leading uncontested. We are too undisciplined to man up tightly.

They worked harder. We didn’t pressure hard enough.

Very very disappointing.

Daicos is pretty much unstoppable if the rest of his team is at the worst breaking even.

Best I've seen since Garry Junior.
