I don't see how we can blame the lack of bye or the cyclone challenge (which wasn't that big of an issue) when we haven't turned up for a full game at all this season. This loss was coming, and this could have happened the week before, or the week before, etc. We were found out last night and if we keep playing this way, we won't win the flag.
If we converted some of the chances in Q2 - our attitude would've been different in Q3. We were pretty competitive in Q2 and 19 points in arrears didn't reflect that.

So when we came our angry in q3 and the idea of roughing up Daicos pushed us even further away from our game. Once they piled on the goals and margin blew out, we just coasted along to finish line.

I'll take the 9 day break and be thankful. Hopefully Kai is back for the fast marvel deck and we can put a bit more speed behind ball like Mckenna releasing Fletcher back to wing. Like I mentioned earlier we could push Charlie as HFF between arcs and Lohmann closer to goal providing F50 pressure.

The Lions have struggled to beat the Pies style of game with the last 4 games ending in defeats.
Same with the Hawks being 5 consecutive losses.

i don't think enough credit has been given to the old Pies. They were very good for 4 quarters

We take on the Saints next week and that is the opposite. Lions have won the last 6 encounters.

They have figured us out. We can not move the ball. Our switch play is nee negated. We need to handball off a mark or free kick from the backline and play a bit more chaos. We really miss Kai and his X factor.

Not quite. previous 3 games have been reasonably close when we're fit and ready . 1 point and 20 points last year, granny was 4 points etc. We can take them on but not on the back of 5 day break and being second to ball, giving up free kicks, making silly mistakes coming out of defense and arguing with Umpires who were hot under the collar for us as well.

How did our forwards go in the basic stats.
Our 7 forwards kicked 39 points of the 53 scored.
Just the 5 tackles in total.
Last week against the Dogs Charlie had 7 on his own

Thought Logan would get a week so that’s a bonus. What was the Daicos “misconduct on Jarrod Berry”?

The umpires weren’t to blame for our loss last night, but I cringe every time Robert Findlay adjudicates our matches.

It’s an extremely tough job to umpire AFL football given how dynamic the game is, as well as the physical demands (lessened since the introduction of four). There’s also a stack of pressure and a need to support the craft to keep community umpiring ranks strong so the game can thrive. I am extremely supportive overall.

That said, Findlay has struggled with his positioning and equally his game awareness. As a senior umpire I expect better - some of the decisions by him last night were bewildering and an overreach which isn’t limited to the Pies game. Unlike Brett Rosbebury, the game has passed him by and hope we don’t have him too many more times this year.

Yes but we have lost and last night a lot. I’m not saying every team but the pies block our spread and corridor movement extremely well. A handball receive opens up space and pushes the next contest downfield. We can’t keep playing the same game as Albert once said apparently.

He barely touched him.

Moore took a dive imo and it backfired.
That’s a ridiculous statement . Like any player would dive into another players knee to get a free kick. A slight push makes a big difference a speed and Logan did push. I can see he didn’t get reported but I think he was extremely lucky.

Go to the AFL website and put up the vision.

Look at the first take which gives you perfect sight on it and see where Logan's hand is in relation to Moore . There's next to no contact , certainly no push , and Moore propels himself.

It looks different on the other takes but that's the opticals.

With the media pile on Christian would've been itching to rub Logan out but he saw it exactly the same way I did.

He was parked forward. Only got 3 CBA. Can't blame him for mids stinking it up.
During the two quarters in question (if I am looking at the stats right) we had 18 inside 50’s. Clearly quality of delivery is an issue that is mitigating. Might also be a coaching issue. Perhaps get both Cam and Hippy up the ground a bit. Both too valuable to be sitting ice cold in attack while the play is at the other end.

You said that Moore dived into his team mates knee. Name any other player that has ever put himself in danger purposely.

As I said before, it takes very little force to change your opponent’s direction at speed.

He didn't mean to dive onto his knee obviously.

He was playing for an in the back, he actually does this often enough , and didn't realise what was coming.

If you watch him he didn't even know they were there , he never looked.

Or if I was a little kinder to him he was trying to take a diving mark.

In fact I don't think Logan knew they were there either.

There was no reaction from any of the players , Moore got up and ran off.
