Won’t happen but here’s what I think:

Out: Allen, Hunt, Duggan
In: Shanahan, Brockman, Grego

Not biting on Flynn getting a recall. He’s uncompetitive in the ruck at AFL. Might look above average around the ground at WAFL level but looks bang average or worse in that area too against AFL quality opponents

At least at GWS, Flynn has shown himself to be able to be an AFL level ruck. Not sure why he has been so shithouse since coming here but
Is it possible that having Kelly, Coniglio, Ward, Hopper, Taranto, Green, Callaghan at your feet might help you look more competent?

Too far the other way!

He’s right, we should bring Kelly back so we can get crushed in the clinches with a slightly older side instead.

There’s other options.

Graham could spend more time in the middle, for example. And Baker.

There’s no doubt a midfield of Hutchinson/Hall/Gross was just way too green, the clearance numbers speak for themselves.

I don't know about being too young... They just got to go for the ball and not be weak.

Hall out... Grego in
Owies out... Hewitt in
Billiams out... Flynn in
Edwards out... Gov in
Dewar out.... Kelly in
Jilliams out... Brockman in
Duggan way out... Cole in... Better defender

Probably keep Davis and see what he can provide with a full game....

So many changes not ideal... But needed after pathetic performances by the outgoing over numerous weeks

McQualter seemed confident in his press conference that McGovern would play so he comes in for one of Edwards or Brock - not fussed which and likely depends on matchups

I don’t like the forwardline with all of Allen, Waterman, Reid and JWill rotating through there so Williams to make way for a running player - but who?

Did Kelly do enough to earn his spot back? Ditto Brockman.

Or should Grego get his chance based on superior form - personally I think he should

In: McGovern, Grego
Out: Brock or Edwards, JWilliams

Permanent backs (6): McGovern, Brocwards, Maric, Ginbey, Hough, Duggan
Permanent forwards (6): Allen, Waterman, Reid*, Ryan, Cripps, Owies
Ruck (1): BWilliams (*with Reid providing support)
Midfield rotation (9): Baker, Graham, Reid, Hutchinson, Hall, Gross, Hunt, Dewar, Grego - Baker, Graham and Reid need more CBAs between them this week. Grego can rotate off half back with Reid and Baker. Likewise Graham and Gross off half forward. Hutchinson can spend time on a wing

Other notes -
• After two games as the sub, Davis probably needs a full WAFL game. Bring in Petch to play sub primarily because other players are more in need of a full game in the WAFL
• There’s been suggestions that Duggan isn’t 100% - if that’s the case rest him and replace him with Cole
• Hewett should also be available but arguably needs a WAFL game or two to find touch before returning to the seniors
• Brockman a chance to replace Owies and/or Davis to get a full game ahead of Hunt
• BWilliams played pretty well against TDK I thought so he keeps his place ahead of Flynn for another week

From the coach's presser, Grego sounds a chance.
Yeo stuck in the 'higher intensity' stage of recuperation, obviously not responding as quickly as they'd like...

The talls explain themselves.
Hall had no clearances on the weekend and only 3 contested possessions. A mid needs to make way for Grego and Kelly so he's the unlucky one.
I dont mind Davis but feel he's too green atm and should keep developing his game in the WAFL for now.

More noncompetitive than 1 mark, 1 kick, 1 tackle and the all important 1 hit out to adv.
I really think some people watch BW with blinkers this year and just reflect on previous efforts.

I thought baker spent alot of time in the middle?

He did during the derby and honestly he looks like a child out there, even comparing him to serong.

Sorry Keys agree with you more often than not but I can't with the Bwilliams sentence.
If there was a ranking for ruckman and their game rating on the weekend I would have a guess and say he would be dead last by a margin.
He has played 2 good qtrs which was the first half v Brissy, everything else has been average or worse.
I just can't get past the fact after 4 games he has finally taken as much marks as Flynn did in that first game where he was "destroyed" by Witts.
I know there is more to ruck work than taking marks but it is bloody handy to have a ruck who can mark and be a bail out if needed.
Baileys had his 4 on the run to prove his worth, about time Flynn got the same chance.

He attended less than half the centre bounces.

I think he switched into defence when Hough went in the middle.

Wait, I didn’t say Williams was good. I do think he does more to compete in the ruck than Flynn does though. They both stink.

Flynn a little more effective around the ground and the fact that is clearly amplified at WAFL level is my point. I don’t think we get an obvious lift from bringing him back in from what I’ve seen of him so far at AFL level

After 5 straight losses it can't hurt to at least try Flynn again.
I would be interested to see if BW does in the WAFL what Flynn has been doing though. If he is better than Flynn then he should absolutely carve it up.

VERY limited exposure for WCE at AFL level though, in reality.

He played 4 games after a long injury lay off in the back half of last year and struggled around the ground due to a lack of AFL fitness. Then 9 months later he’s played 1 game and been dumped.

Considering Bailey has had about 80 games now and is still not a ruckman’s…armpit, I think it’s probably worth rolling the dice again on Flynn for a while.

Going just off the stats Long and Brockman each had 19 touches after 4 and 7 respectively vs GWS. This is why these guys need to play in the WAFL. Flynn had 48 hitouts and 20 touches which is what you want from an AFL listed ruckman playing WAFL.

Petch had 10 touches and kicked 1 goal. Not going to get recalled doing that. Did kick 5 in Rd 1 but still only 10 touches. I remember a 20 year old Mark LeCras getting 35 touches and kicking 7.6 then backing it up with 29 touches and 8.1. This is a guy who could kick goals for fun but averaged 18 touches a game in his best AFL season in terms of pushing up the ground. I don't understand why someone like Petruccelle can't go back to WAFL and get 20-30 touches and 10 inside 50s.

Kelly had 20 touches and a pleasing 10 inside 50s. Not terrible, but he is an AFL B&F winner from 2023 and isn't coming back from injury. In the other game Parfitt had 35 touches and Constable 31 with 8 tackles. Be interesting to see how Perth vs WC goes this week. Will Brodie regularly picks up 30 touches for Peel and can't get a look in at Freo. The great Rowan Jones' last WAFL game was 20 handball 20 kick masterpiece.
