Going just off the stats Long and Brockman each had 19 touches after 4 and 7 respectively vs GWS. This is why these guys need to play in the WAFL. Flynn had 48 hitouts and 20 touches which is what you want from an AFL listed ruckman playing WAFL.

Petch had 10 touches and kicked 1 goal. Not going to get recalled doing that. Did kick 5 in Rd 1 but still only 10 touches. I remember a 20 year old Mark LeCras getting 35 touches and kicking 7.6 then backing it up with 29 touches and 8.1. This is a guy who could kick goals for fun but averaged 18 touches a game in his best AFL season in terms of pushing up the ground. I don't understand why someone like Petruccelle can't go back to WAFL and get 20-30 touches and 10 inside 50s.

Kelly had 20 touches and a pleasing 10 inside 50s. Not terrible, but he is an AFL B&F winner from 2023 and isn't coming back from injury. In the other game Parfitt had 35 touches and Constable 31 with 8 tackles. Be interesting to see how Perth vs WC goes this week. Will Brodie regularly picks up 30 touches for Peel and can't get a look in at Freo. The great Rowan Jones' last WAFL game was 20 handball 20 kick masterpiece.
Petch is an athlete and Lecca was a footballer. Lecca had high footy iq and petch doesn’t. We complained about lecca in his last few season and yet he kicked over 30 goals in his last three seasons and averaged over 14 touches. While his body was slowing down towards the end his iq helped him prolong that little bit. Petch on the other hand doesn’t and his only weapon to this day is his speed and that’s been regressing lately

Anyone know if hat time WC team gets named?

Rock and a hard place. His WAFL game didn’t deserve a recall as a veteran AFL midfielder. But we can’t roll out a midfield grouping with 14 (now 17!) games experience again.

Just hope he responds. Also hope it doesn’t mean no Grego.

"See everyone! We'll drop senior players! We'll bring them straight back in after doing nothing at WAFL level but we'll drop them!"
The good version of Tim Kelly is best 22 and needed if we want to win a game. If the rubbish version comes back then he will get dropped again (hopefully). He is one of only two genuine mids in the senior player group who are fit.

I get wanting to keep him out till he earns it at WAFL level but hopefully he just needed the kick in the pants. Despite how terrible we've looked this game is winnable, so I'm good with giving Tim a chance here.

But gee if he flubs this chance he can GTFO till he really earns it.

Depends which version of Tim Kelly shows up. Have a feeling we'll get the sooky, I don't love football anymore version this week myself but I guess we'll see
For Tim's sake it'd better be the other one.

Get ready for the return of Tim Kelly classic with his flat top fade.

Might actually make it watchable
My good back pain meds and a couple of beers really take the edge off in the second half of our games. As such I'm choosing to watch this weeks game from the couch.
