Mead is vanilla and doesn't seem to have any discernible weaponry that could catapult into being a great midfielder and it is that expectation that we all have for him. You add the Father, Son name of Mead, the pick 25 in the draft albeit with a hodge podge of later picks and you just want him to break out.

He's not fast, he's not a contested beast, he's not sublimely skilled, he's not a gut runner, he's not hard and a great tackler, he's not a mass accumulator, he's not huge, he's not athletic, he's not an unbelievable kick.

What I will say that with a smidge of space he usually picks the right options and his possessions usually go to advantage either by hand or foot. He can weight a kick into the F50 with precision. Champion Data would love him.

Like many on here, I don't know where he will find an extra gear to really excel in the midfield.

He seems to be what he is right now. If you are happy with that, he can play in the team.

I truly hope he finds a gear I've yet to see. He could be a late bloomer type and when it comes down to it, most people, myself included, are big fans of his Dad.

My point is that there has been a change in gameplan for the year which is not normal because Hinkley has stuck to his very strong gameplan for about a decade. Younger players are being played which is a bit different to Hinkley who likes to play his guys. Hinkley likes to put his guys in and play them out of position. Rozee gets put back into defence. Very unlike Kenny. There seems to be a balancing of the lines. We are more patient moving forward. We are happy to hold the ball up. Lots of different things.

Anyway, lets have a look at his supposed confirmation bias.

Round 1 - Collingwood - we get smashed. Kicks 192, Handpasses 172. Ratio 1.11.
Round 2 - Richmond - an easy win. Kicks 239, Handpasses 239, Ratio 1.
Round 3 - Essendon - bad close loss. Kicks 224, Handpasses 158. Ratio 1.41
Round 4 - St Kilda - another bad close loss. Kicks 194, Handpasses 152. Ratio 1.28
Round 5 - Hawthorn - great win. Kicks 214, Handpasses 160. Ratio 1.34
Round 6 - Sydney - great win. Kicks 203, Handpasses 104. Ratio 1.95.

I think we can see that in the first two games the ratio of kicks to handballs is close to one but in the next four games, there is a significant movement to kicking more to the point where the game against Sydney, we are almost 2:1.

It's defensive pressure that causes the overuse of the handball. Easier to get a kick away when you have time and space.

his grandfather said he isn't racist (as he has indigenous blood himself) he is just 13yrs and stupid
His grandfather also said he was in a police cell. He is 16 and the police spoke to him, they didn't lock him up . I wouldn't trust grandpa.

#AFLSwansPower Final xScores:
SYD 75 from expected 87.4 (+2 rushed)
PORT 84 from expected 75.7 (+1 rushed)

We had a lot more deeper shots on goal, ie 25m out or less, than usual, and kicked then all except for JHF's set shot, which I think it was in last quarter, about 25m out.

I50.. us 53 v 61 them (3/4 was 44 v 38)
Shots us 22 v 29 them
Mk I50 us 14 v 9 them ( 3/4 time was 14 v 4)
