After watching this performance up to half time we pretty much just missing Jesse Hogan to break open the forward line and get us a couple goals.

Everything else is promising. If we had lever/may and Tmac forward that's all we would need.

Fox Footy saying we should be happy with the first half effort and defensive change.

Nah not at all, dominated contested footy early and the game was even, lose it in the 2nd quarter and we go goalless.
All we did was drop all our numbers back completely behind the ball, no point being better defensively if you go goalless yourself and hardly look like scoring.

There is nothing to suggest we can turn this around now, we fired our best shots already

Emphasis clearly on defending this week. Which has been ok considering Tigers weapons and the fact they have 11 more inside 50s. But same issues that has occured all season so far occured that quarter. Winning tap outs comfortably but losing stoppages, and the connection to the forwardline is really poor. Plus we're losing tackles and posessions. Happy with our defensive mindset, but if the same issues keep happening for the rest of the game, we'll lose by 60 as the spirit will break at some stage.

8pts down at halftime isn't awful, but it could get ugly unless we find an avenue forward..

Defenders can take a bow that quarter. Tmac has been decent since the first 10mins. Frost has been brave too. Not too many balls going behind the marking contest which often kills us (Frost always misjudging the ball). Lynch has done fk all after the first 5 mins (touch wood).
Another week and that could've been a 5 goal to zip quarter. One of the two goals fell into Dusty's lap on the line.
Cannot just let them outmark us when it goes to our 50 though. Especially not their midsize players like Vlastuin etc. If we have to dump it down the line, get it over the boundary so we can at least set up to our strength and get a stoppage.

We;re talking the Dusty goal yeah?

Yeah Frost beat Riewoldt to a ground ball, then ran past Brayshaw to tackled his man and Brayshaw then let Riewoldt walk around him with a little lettuce leaf effort
