Bags can play fwd, back, kicks goals and provides on ball pressure. He helps the teams rotations. He can do a lot of things better but atm, he fills a role that others can’t. This is what the coaches see being better informed than anyone here on this forum.
Stop bitching about selection and enjoy the build up.
2 zip at the MCG this year, 3 100 plus winning games in row. Mid field players starting to gel, good fwd/back lines.
We’ve got this!
This exactly. Two ten goal wins so no need for a shit fit. Have been here with Hurley. Have been here with Brown. Ambrose. Ect ect. Guys come good. Experienced guys. If you kick every out of form player out of the club after four games you'll end up being less experienced than Carlton and be on the bottom. I'd probably drop Bags but he was pretty good forward pressure when we came good last year and people forget that. He sparked our forward line. I'm far from upset with him playing. Parish isn't the guy to take his spot. Beguley will when he's ready or Moz. They aren't. Hopefully he has a much better game and we win. Go Bombers.

For the last three weeks there have been melts over selection.

Results may dictate that the guys paid to do the job may in fact have more of an idea than we do.
That's my zen state at the moment. I had my premature crook moment a couple of days ago.

Parish is out. Listen and do Darcy.
Bags is in. Go Baaaaaags!

I'm curious about Baguley, I know he's been shifted forward for a while, but why did he actually get moved from defence? I always considered him a pretty good shut down small defender. Is that his best position?
Our other defenders went past him. He tried as a forward I think in 2016 for a game or two so they gave him another shot at it when we had a few injuries to our small forwards last year. And we still have injury trouble with the small forwards now. He’s serviceable.

He was a good shut down defender for a few seasons but started to struggle once he started to lose his pace. Had a bit of a career revival as a small forward for a little bit but has been struggling for form as of late.

You need to stop with this "club can do no wrong" spiel. You can support an entity whilst criticising it. The reality is that he's equal first in frees against, and as for his "pressure" he isn't in the top 100 tacklers in the league, and doesn't even average 1 tackle inside 50 a game. Imagine as a kid at Essendon, you see experienced players basically get a free pass for playing poorly as leaders whilst you're stuck in the magoos winning by an average margin of 110 and can't get a look in.

Who’s doing game day thread?
VelvetSledge I'd assume

Brayden Ham had 10 touches, 5 tackles, 4 inside 50's, a goal, a goal assist and 1 FA (after being sold down the river for a HTB) last week, gets dropped.
Mark Baguley had 10 touches, 2 tackles, 1 inside 50, no goals, no goal assists and 6 FA's last week, retains his spot.

Now that's not to say I'd necessarily play Ham, but he was equal to or better than Baguley in every measure, yet Baguley holds his spot and Ham doesn't?

Ham isn't plugging away in the magoos going "why aren't I getting a game". And he's also not competing with Baguley for a spot, and I'm sure he knows that.

Got any others?

Parish can't get a game for one average game, and don't give me the "Parish doesn't play as a small forward" spiel. We would lose absolutely nothing by dropping Baguley and having Smith, Guelfi and Parish rotate through forward 50 at all.

Baguley keeps getting gifted games despite playing poorly. If the structure falls apart because we rotate midfielders through a defensive pressure spot in the forward line well then the structure is deeply flawed.

Lol you don't get to pick and choose what arguments other people make. Either you make a reasoned, rational argument you can back up with evidence, or I'm gonna ignore your arguments because they're clearly based on emotion. I don't have the time or inclination to argue with your feelings.

You need to stop with this "club can do no wrong" spiel. Why?

You can support an entity whilst criticising it. And you can support an entity without criticising it. Each to his own.

Because he constantly criticises people for doing it. Every week. He thinks people aren't allowed to complain about selection if the club wins. Just because a club wins doesn't mean that every selection is the right call to make.

I've pledged a nudie run if Walla wins the medal. Fortunately for residents of Victoria, I'm staying in a cabin on a remote mountainside. Unfortunately for me, it's ******* freezing and misty up here. Make it happen God!
Also, looking forward to String and Joe playing together and both being in some form... We haven't had the pleasure much yet.

I admit that thought process was not apparent to me in the post you quoted; it must have been because I was distracted by the pages and pages of criticism about selection, despite winning.

We haven’t won against much yet and I’d suggest we’d have won with most of people’s selection choices the last few weeks anyway. Who knows we may have even won by more.

I don’t agree with selection but I’m holding serve at the moment given the performances and acknowledgement I have less information but I understand the disquiet.

My major issue is there seems to be different rules for different people and age seems to be the deciding factor.

Make sure you post your police interview here. I hope it goes a little bit like ...
