Pros-
  • Wings.
  • Bennell.
  • I thought McGovern did pretty good.

Cons-
  • Commentators besides roo, they were ******* disgraceful.
  • Playing like complete shit.
  • Umpiring in the 4th.
  • Our players constantly being 10m behind their opponents, why hasn't this been addressed? It happens pretty much every week!
  • Players being selfish (cripps did a few selfish things off the top of my head).
  • Wellingham and his piss weak performance. Seriously, **** off and pursue your modelling career if you're going to play like that. ******* hipster.
  • Players horribly out of form.
  • Why aren't we manning up?! You learn that in ******* Auskick!
  • Continuously bombing it in and not kicking to leads.
  • Continuously kicking it above their head.
  • Priddis. Learn how to not turn the ball over, you spud.
  • Players just being lazy and not running or tackling.
  • Why was McGovern subbed?
  • Oh and I broke my fan. **** you Eagles.

Pros

Bennell is a ****en gun. Unbelievable

Yeo and shepperd gaining in stature really happy with how theyre turning out

Hurn and lecras not far away

Nic nat improving.

Mcgovern for a first game played well.

Better accuracy at goal compared to the past 2 weeks

Cons

Priddis time and time again kicking it to an opposition player

Kennedy being out of form

Not manning up

Missing goals and not passing it off to someone free in the square. Yes shuey im looking at you

Cox is really heading to the end of his career

We went in too tall.

To concede a decent lead to one of the worst teams in the comp is inexcusable

Wellingham out of form

Too many cockups

Well lose next week

Been saying it all year, the structure of our forward line is a joke. Whoever is the Forward coach needs to pull his head in.

Kennedy losing pretty much every 1 on 1 he has. Not all of the passes hit him on the chest, but he's most definitely out of touch. Constantly fumbling, getting pushed off it, and even dropped marks he should have taken.

Subbing out McGovern when he would have been in our top 5 players for the game.

Our midfield being so week. Getting harassed and coughing the ball up after we've won it from a clearance. Instead of absorbing a tackle and dishing out a handball to a free player, they wet there pants and panic handball it around.

Wellingham... Yet again... Is repaying the club for trading in an average 25yr old last year for our 1st round pick.

Having Brown as the loose man. Or having a loose man at all in fact. That person needs to be Hurn only, he's the only one who can play the role properly.

The umpiring was fricken awesome. Only to be bettered by the commentary team. Bunch of geniuses all of them.

Our midfield being genuinely average. Priddis and Selwood. We can't have both of them in the team.

Forward delivery to Darling was atrocious. Arguably our best player and Priddis was legitimately trolling him with kicks.

+
I walked off after Menzel kicked that goal to tie the scores with 5 mins to go.

Gov's debut was pretty flawless if you ask me. Clean, hard at it, and decent overhead. Wish we could fit him in.

Yeo showing just what he can do when he's allowed to push up the ground more. Wins every one on one contest

Bennell didn't drop his head after making a few mistakes. I thought his run of decent form might be slowing, but he fired back up and did some great things. Good player.

Finally everybody realizing just where we are at these days. Not a good team at all so stop acting like we ever were. We need to get this rebuild going and start looking at the future.

Pro's

- The backline again, with the exception of Schofield at times who was flat footed. Sheppard and Bennell very good again. Bennell looking and playing like Josh Gibson out there. Throw in Glass, Hurn and our backline looks very very strong.
- Yeo streaming through the midfield from defence
- McGovern looks like an AFL player. Very poised.
- Sheed. He will develop fairly quickly and shows a bit. Good clutch goal, and he knows where to run.
- Shuey and Rosa's courage and games in general. Thought Gaff and Masto were ok too.
- LeCras will fix some of our midfield and forward line issues structurally.

Con's

- Poor structures. Getting caught over the back goal side for early goals YET AGAIN!!!!
- Scooter features here again. He's worse that Sandilands at picking the ball up cleanly off his feet and his decision making and disposal leave much to be desired.
- Wellingham put in a weak effort. Zero intensity. I expect his usual one or two overcooked kicks, but lack of effort is unexpected.
- Schoey too flat footed.
- Another poor umpiring decision at the worst possible time which swung momentum to the opponent.

Pros -
Bennel - takes the game on(would make a great forward crumber)
Shep - finally had a solid day at the office after much criticism-i like his poise and run and tit-kicks.
Yeo - takes the game on, got dog in him, some suspect kicks, midfield material.
Rosa- had a run of good games..his usual crazymaddangerous flying marks.

we've played 2 close games in a row that we couldve won against mid to high mid tier teams, and simmo's learning on the job, its kind of improving?? need glass, hurn and Lecca back to settle our structures etc. priddis actually hit a couple of tits today!!!(is that a pro?)
Cons -
Bombies into the F50.
Mass Flusterflucking..
Too many Panic Jerbyls..
Too many dropped marks
Too many poor decisions
Too many missed goals (again)
Flappinghands Wellingham plays like a girl!? (there ive said it,and no disrespect to female afl players)
Umpires
Commentators
Whats going on with the forward line?? is this new coach experimentation? teams have got the wood on Kennedy and Darling.(and Gaff)
for effort we need 2 more Darlings, Bennels and Yeos?
wheres our midfield, have we got one, if not we'd better get one before the finals (in 2015)

once more i read during the week, how its just an off week against Port, and we're gonna come out hard this game-that from Darling...and its still S.O.S (the same old shyte)..but its arguably improving-we're testing our depth? if we had glass, hurn and lecca we wouldve rolled over them and probably port. ive learnt to lower my expectations (that might be a pro). but yeh, pug-ugly!

Pros
The backline has been great all year
Bennell was quiet then lifted, quality player
Rosa again is showing everyone in our team how to play football, gun player.
Shuey did some good things but we a bit off by foot

Cons
That, ladies and gents, was our strongest midfield and we lost to Carlton who had 4 or 5 of the best out of the team, just think about that for a minute :drunk:
Mids ball watching again, too busy waiting for someone else to get it.
Wellingham and Lolwood had a stinker, Lolwood is nothing but a C grade midfielder, just give him a tagging role and be done with it.
When the game was there to be won, we lost focus and couldn't find the heart needed to win.
Disposal into the forward line was pathetic, give our guys some space and honor the lead ffs
Missing a small crumbing forward
We went in too tall again against a strong running team, Simmo must have been reading from the The Big Book of Woosha Doozies.
Slow all over the ground, except for Bennell and Yeo
NN game away some stupid free kicks that were questionable but still
Some of the umpiring decisions, while didn't lose us the game, really killed our momentum again!
No depth after the 22 that took the field today
Not a top 4 side, no way

Struggle to see how we can improve and start competing as a finals side. Hard decision need to be made regarding the playing future of some cattle. We need midfielders and if I don't see the club responding to that, I will write them a letter, so yeah, ummmm, they better watch out :p

another minor con, the cunning plan we have to kick the ball over a forwards head to three loose defenders - we practices this over and over again - then wonder why the forwards lose some confidence

we should have won easily in the end that's a positive.
we didn't that's a negative.
the Gov played very well.Up to Browns standard already
yeo and bennell went ok.

cox doesn't off too much
none of our rucks offer much when resting up forward, did a few things but overall not enough
still lacking a CHF
not fast enough
not skilled enough
kennedy cant take a trick.even when its good delivery to him he is a good chance to fluff it

Pros

Bennell - being the best he can be. Others need to take a leaf out of his book

Shepard - 2 good games in a row. Lets hope he keeps going because if he can play, his speed is needed.

Gaff - seems to be copping a bagging but I think people are short sighted. His biggest weakness is he has a tendency to be soft in contests. The last 2 weeks he has finally decided to put his body on the line. We just have to keep playing him. As he builds his core strength and learns how to cope with a tag, he'll be a gun. People want it all now and that's unrealistic with Gaff. I'm just happy he's putting his body on the line because if he can't do that then he's no use to us down the track.

Masten - playing well.

Cons

Wellingham - He's been poor so far this season and his contribution over the last two weeks is unacceptable for an experienced AFL player. I just don't think you can keep playing a guy playing so poorly. I have no idea how he started the game at the opening bounce in front of Masten? It cost us.

3 rucks - we're too tall. Cox needs to be phased out. Lycett looks a bit too Mark Seaby for my liking. I did see him play a few games in the past where he really went in hard. Spudding it up recently though.

NicNat - out of form but we have to keep playing him. His decision making and where he positions himself worries me.

Priddis - we just can't keep playing this guy. Midfield set up needs an overhaul and he needs to be moved on. No idea why simmo signed him up on a 2 year deal.

His positioning was never his strong point, but I've began to notice this much more this year. He just seems to wander around in general play unsure of where he should be instead of actually presenting or getting to the marking contest when we don't have the ball. Not sure if it has anything to do with his fitness though, although you would assume so.

His decision making leaves me scratching my head sometimes as well- I mean handballing to Kennedy's feet instead of running the ball into the fifty and having a shot .

I think people need to back off jk a bit. I thought he was pretty good tonight and there were at least 4 occasions where he had a meter on his opponent running into space and we just put it over his head and didn't give him a chance. Our ball use has dropped off significantly lately.

Pros
Bennell- again
Bouncing back after the 1st quarter
McGovern
Nic nat very slowly but surely building form/confidence
Shuey

Cons
Inaccuracy yet again
The last 10mins
The fact we lost
And worst of all- the feeling that despite the hope + changes, this year is looking like 2013 again :(

Just finished watching it half an hour ago after work and only just calmed down enough to open tapatalk. That was the most disappointing loss I've experienced in years. Just absolutely gutted. I don't even care about the derby next week right now, just over it.

He's played 1 game. A very good debut nethertheless, but 1 game. He'd be nowhere near up to Brown's standard. He'd struggle if he had to play on Buddy Franklin next week.

ps As good as McLovin's debut was, Brown's was twice as good vs Swans at Homebush. Tore it up. But we don't judge players on one game. Took Brown a long time to get his consistency.

its taken brown how many years to be at the level he is now?Good on him for show up to play this year.Plenty wrote him off(me included)
I think The Gov is roundabouts his level already.I think we will see that by the end of the season. He will get thrown about a bit and I hope he ends up at CHF ,that's where he is needed the most in my opinion, but it may slow his progress down a bit

feel just about the same. The last 3 weeks have reminded us that we are nowhere near making a run for the flag. I made a comment in the "Unpopular Eagles opinions" thread that our current playing group are not good enough to win us a premiership. Unfortunately theres nothing ive seen this season to prove otherwise.

Pros

Our defense is playing well

Cons

The amount of downhill skiers we have in the team which constantly puts our defense under extreme pressure, these include Cripps, Selwood, Gaff, Wellingham, Priddis, Hutchings,,Shuey, none of these guys push hard enough when we don't have the ball, maybe a few of them should sit down and watch what Darling does during the game, it would be horrible playing in our defense and watching waves of opposistion players running at you.

Haha, it's always nice to see somebody fresh with hate.

Champ summed it up for me. That was our full strength midfield, against a Carlton team which is depleted and missing 3 or 4... and we still got a beat down.

Just shows where we are at right now. I'd back literally almost any midfield in the competition to beat ours right now. If we can't beat a spud team that was 1-4 like Carlton, with a near full strength team... then boy oh boy we better start rolling in the Tank for a rebuild fellas.
