Needs to be said over and over coz it gifted the Pies a flag in 2010.
Same gift happening again for the first time since.

Imagine if Sydney finishes top 4 two years running including a flag then gets told they can have their last 7 games at the SCG, when they will be playing finals there AND the GF is played at the SCG.
Imagine if WCE got handed 7 games to finish off the season at Optus this year.
It would be a scandal the Melb press would make sure could never happen again.....but it is.

I think the Tiges play like 5 actual away games this year, and even they are against mobs that finished bottom 6-7 mainly.

Bugger it, i should give Gill a call and blast him about it....just after I ask him "Baker or Ross ? "
That's what makes beating the filthy Mexicans all that much sweeter. :moustache:

PS. I was at your last in 2012 on the pocket where Malcheski kicked the early goal.
Those Hawks flogs wanted to rename Swan St to Hawk St after they won the flag.
****en lol

Wouldn’t you just get someone later then? Seems like a weird time to do it especially if you get injuries and what not?
Quite the opposite. I prefer the extra loophole doughnut on 2 lines now while I'm forced to start rookies on field. Minimises the risk of a 20-30 type score on-field.

We also have to play a home game at Marvel against clubs that play there more often than we do.
8 of our games at the MCG are against other tennants/half tennants. Home ground advantage for us is basically non existent.
West Coast traveled over 40,000km last year and that was during H&A alone.

That's more distance then one of your mob will travel in their whole career

Collingwood supporters get a bit touchy when I point out the leg up they got in 2010 playing 10 games in a row at the MCG prior to the GF replay.

It was no wonder they were the fresher team when they hadn't had to travel for about 3 months, St Kilda only got 2 games at the MCG prior to the finals.
We've beaten Collingwood the last 4 times we've played them. Every game has been at the G except one in Perth but that was a final so we had to earn that home game.

These downgrade trades are doing my head in.

I’m coming around to the Lockhart in, still don’t think he’ll be playing during the byes but should be able to manoeuvre him around and get by.

Then I have the options of Ross, Stack and Baker. If I’m going the more expensive option I’d prefer Stack over Baker.

So tossing up between Ross and Stack. Purely for cash generation from here which requires job security. Thoughts would be appreciated. Not concerned with scoring, as they likely won’t score, well they might, they’ll be in competition with Drew.

I'd feel dirty blowing both of my trades for the week before the first game of the round though!!

I'd love to do the double down this week but need to start upgrading at some stage. Hayes and Hately likely on the bubble next week, with Bewley, North and Hind still to put in appearances. Lots of mid rooks, but scarcely any others, which is why Baker is the must have for me this week.

I would consider Lockhart, but Rocky is likely to rise by just as much this week as Lockhart, and should score a lot more points. Gotta get me some of that action!!
Sad, but i’m gonna have to do it I think. I’ll just have to ride it out and hope there’s no carnage for me at the selection table. Pretty solid for coverage so it would have to get very messy to have any impact.

Baker better. Neither have good JS though.

Ross is an inside mid only, he might go for Graham this week and if not he'll definitely go for Cotchin the week after.

Jack is coming back, but Baker has been better than Bolton, and Butler isn't a walk up.
Thanks legend. Makes a difficult weekend slighty better.... Ta man.

another option....

Collins > daniels (F4) (increase of 38pts pts per round, and gets rookie off field)
OR
Williams > Lloyd (increase of 35pts per round, and gets D1)
Any thoughts on which trade?

Clark > daniels (F4) (increase of 38pts pts per round, and gets rookie off field)

OR

Williams > Lloyd (increase of 35pts per round, and gets D1)

Dirty soapdodgers the lot of them.
Great game that grannie, and not just the result :thumbsu:
That early goal by Mal from the pocket was an absolute corker not often replayed, usually just the sealer that gets a run.

**** it

Atkins - > Lockhart
Parker - > Telly

Can't risk Telly being out of reach. He won't get much cheaper.

Next week:

DEF rookie - > Hateley
Rozee - > Any FWD or DEF premo around 550k
BE 117 and playing Weagles with a known tagger. If you have the balls to hold a week you could get him cheaper. If he does score well he wont go much over 500k anyway

The schedule this week really is a pain with Tigers and Dees rookies on the bubble.

I'm thinking of going either;

1. Butters to Ross and Rozee to Sicily/Laird.

or

2. Double down this week, and do Butters to Ross or Baker, and Clark to Lockhart leaving me with $359,100 (Ross) or $314,300 (Baker).

Next week I will likely get in Hately if he has another good game, and maybe Mitch Lewis if he scores ok too. Would be well and truly cashed up to upgrade prior to byes then.

Should I go on the downgrade path, or get one upgrade out of the way this week?

Trading him in for the season not one week.

And he'd still outscore Parker even with a tag.
You sure about that?

Hutchings can shut down the best of them.

Watched him keep Lachie Neale to 8 touches in a half who is arguably the most inform mid in the comp.

Cotch has suffered a setback since I posted that, so Ross might be a bit safer now.

Fwiw, I'm passing on him to grab Lockhart and Baker, and will just grab Hatley in the mids next week.
