i have not seen it
but posters on the gameday thread are saying it was a goal, or at the very least that the goal umpire will come under scrutiny
how close was it? what do people think here?
It was a goal. It passed the line. The opponent had to arch his back in order to touch the ball. It was behind the line!

Did they ever. Umpiring was disgusting. All umpiring was disgusting. Goal as well as field even the boundary umpires had their moments.
There was a ridiculous stretch at one point where I think ROK got done for a free, then 50 metres.....then the Kangas should've been called for holdign the ball twice in about 15 seconds but they get a free kick for some imaginary offence......then a goal follows shortly after.

The inconsistency from the umpires is ridiculous.

One was where Jude Bolton was flying to grab the ball and bumped into one of the Kangaroo's players. Free kick against... WTF?! And when the Kangaroos held on to our jumpers when we marked, they get told off for holding it, but when Magic did it.. an immediate 50. Ridiculous:thumbsdown:!!!

The thing is, the goal umpire took a step towards the middle of the goals, THEN stopped and signalled the touch, which means there must have been a fair bit of doubt as to whether the player touched it.

I know arcing up over it doesn't do anything but ____ing hell thats annoying.

Yup, the umpire had to think twice about claiming it.

Then again, if the umpire said it was a goal, could've been huge controversy as well.

I wish they would have showed another angle of it. The entire game they kept pulling out these stupid angle shots of the game that were so annoying to watch, but when they could have actually been useful then they don't use them.. blah, so frustrating.

speaking of holding, did anyone see brent staker pinged for it last night?
it was called after he'd been obviously holding on to, i think, rob murphy, but the point i'm making is that he was called immediately, yet think back two weeks to how long and how many holds he had on baz, but no whistle, baz erupts, and who's the villain?
i hate staker, but last night just emphasised again how much of a shite deal hall gets from umpires

We were robbed. Again. Do they have to ____ us over at least one game every year? Is it like an umpires' code or something?

I actually thought we were pretty damn horrible all day besides the first quarter, i was expecting us to get pounded in the last quarter when the Roos were up by 17, very lucky to escape with a draw imo, Goodes or Hale BOG.

We played terrible. Forward line went missing for two quarters, and when it mattered, they couldn't convert.

Davis played shocking.

Umpiring was terrible, for both sides. The amount of soft free kicks given was atrocious.

So angry right now.

If we kicked more straight, we would've won by 10-20 points even if we played poorly. Poor conversion by MOL and Davis cost us.

Yup, had so many chances but couldn't convert.. we've only got ourselves to blame. Who missed in that last half of the last quarter? I know Moore missed 2, Barlow may have missed 2.. It's just not good enough.

Oh and crap, what about Jude kicking it out on the full twice in like 1 minute? What an absolute idiot.

Bloody shanked the ball twice. Thought he would've redeemed himself after the first shocker.

We did enough to lose the game without any help from anyone but deadset, McLaren is an idiot and seemed to have it in for us.
