Theyve got the mindset right, it all falls on how North responds.

I don't think we're up to it, even if the effort was fire-breathing the gameplan doesn't stack up. They demolished us in JLT 1, their younger players will throw us off, Lycett will tear us a new one, Powell-pepper will get off the leash and impact.

We're really staring down the barrel of a bloody ugly one.

These are the players I want to see in action soon to see if they have something:

Tom McKenzie (back) - 1-2 weeks
Tom Murphy (ankle) (TBC)
Will Walker (PCL) - indefinite
Pretty sure WW looked the goods before his injury, but it's a long way back after the injuries he's had. I'm still backing the kid in.

Should be an easy win for us. All their star new players will be fading.

As a side, Port Adelaide is well-drilled and extremely disciplined, which is why it has toppled quality sides such as West Coast this season.
The Power play a high-possession style of game, ranking third in kicks and handballs per game, and first in average disposals.
Renowned for its fast-paced frenetic style of play, Port Adelaide is capable of moving the ball from end-to-end in a flash if its opponents have a lapse in concentration.
This energetic game plan has seen it rank third in total points per game, ahead of sides such as GWS and Brisbane.
Don't doubt, they'll come out firing. After last week's win they'll be pumped. Well coached unit.

Albeit I'll say Kyrons definitely earned it as his tackling/pressure numbers greatly overshadow most of even the senior team. He's growing into his tagger role quite comfortably.

Needs to find more of the pill & attack on ball when he needs to however.
Yep, we said he's sacrificing his own game at the moment, but that'll come with more experience in the role. Learning when to get of the leash is the key, he's like a dog with a bone at the moment.

Powell Pepper may be out with an ankle injury. I just want to see them go out and play solid hard competitive football. Fast and accurate going forward and strong in d.

Pretty sure Hinkley will not want to stray too far from his fast footy gameplan, problem is, the "deny them the ball, go forwards carefully" counterplan requires at least adequate, and preferably superior footskills, so maybe our best shot is try the shootout scenario, hang on, only really works with competent goalkicking. That's plans A and B not really an option.

NUFC, YES.
Theyve got the mindset right...
We’ll see on the night. Losing games we’re expected to win at Adelaide Oval is right in our wheelhouse.

For all the talk of ‘The Portress’ and ‘hostile environment’, we boast a thoroughly mediocre 30-27 record after starting 8-0 to open the joint. Have lost 5 of our last 6 at home.

Subiaco it ain’t.

I'm not really sure where to put this, but I just wanted to point out that Brad's post match claim that "other than Richmond, we’ve played the most players" is completely wrong.

Only seven clubs have used less players than us this year.
Is that right? I just assumed it was true because why would a coach think he could get away with making up a stat like that?

I guess because he can? That's deplorable

I reckon there was a season when Laidley was coach , where the coaching staff put a plan in place over the preseason for all the players to bulk up because they believed that the style of footy was heading in the contested ball direction .

Long story short we f****d it up , and we’re getting run off our legs after half time . Regular 10 goal smashings were the norm . I think I recall the club recognised their mistake after round 4 or 5 and did a pre season during the regular season to strip the players back . We got hammered just about all year long and ended up with pick 3 which we used on Lachie Hansen. Stibberd wanted Joel Selwood but was over ruled by Laidley , seems like we’ve let coaches have too much say for a long time .
Stibbard gave an interview a few years back that put the blame firmly on the medicos. He said they wouldn't sign off on Selwood's dodgy knee.
I think Laidley has a few questionable overrides against his name, but Lachie ain't one of them.

All this talk about losing so Scott goes isn’t really what I want. I want Scott to go but I also want to win. I could never at the first bounce of a north game hope we lose.

None of you guys would.

Deep down I still think we can turn this around.

Yes I have seen the 5 games (4 live). Yes we are terrible. I just feel like we are over coached. Over programmed. The message should be to take the game on. Last week 50+ points down in the last and Atley taking the ball in space looks to slow it down and kicks it 30m backwards. It’s madness.

So yes new coach thanks as he has worn me out, but to support north to lose NEVER!!

Been told training intensity well up, tackling drills aplenty.
It should be up every training, this is the point most of us are making, once again picking and choosing when to apply themselves.
