Very positive game. Showing at our best we definitely don't miss Joe

McLachlan for Kai seems obvious

Payne for Dizzy or Lester

You'd have to consider dropping Charlie for him to find form in the 2s. Must have missed at least his last 10 shots on goal

Charlie had a good influence further up the ground. He has nothing to gain by playing in 2s, his pressure between arcs as a high half forward is quite valuable to us and between him + Lohmann it's a point of difference to our lineup. I'd leave him in there and let the goals come whenever it happens.

Would just be less pressure to perform

Would just be less pressure to perform

Need to tell him to forget about goals and keep doing what he's doing further up the ground. He adds a major point of difference to our lineup with his pace, tackle, pressure etc. He'll find the slingshot goals eventually - it'll come.

The problem is that he's lost his pace. I think it was in the 3rd quarter, a saints player was about 8 meters behind charlie and he beat him to the ball. That never has happened before. Even the commentators were shocked. Of course, it's normal to lose your pace when you hit his age (most players do, especially with injuries and so on) but he's not the same player he was 2 seasons ago.

It did just happen to be one of the fastest players in the AFL but you're not wrong

Not really concerned with Charlie. Playing a nice role up the ground and his goal drought, while not ideal, is also a reflection on our spread of talent up forward.

As good defensively as we’ve looked all season. No complaints bar goal kicking.

Levi’s defensive positioning and workrate was very impressive. He’s obviously going to be an inside mid long term but he’s working his arse off to hold onto his wing/half forward spot.

Agree he's run out of defence set up a fair few goals this weekend I would love to see some mid/wing position from Fages for Charlie

. After all …

It could be worse.

Also, i said it before. But i felt it was disrespectful by the club to not wear an anzac related jersey today. They didn't even heatpress a badge on (which some clubs did). Not putting in the minimum effort was a poor move for me, especially as this club in the past has made a big deal out of this round. I think we were the only team in the league that didn't do anything Anzac related as well. I could be wrong though

I don’t mind the current “Home” and “Away” strips. Happy to wear the Fitzroy themed coloured guernsey when we are ‘away’ irrespective of the State, but wouldn’t mind if it was only in Victoria. After all …

It’s not ANZAC Day today…

A bit disappointing that we got sloppy at the end and conceded the last two goals.

However, we did win all four quarters and apart from the three in a row they kicked at the beginning of the third, we were in control for the whole game.

We have the wood on the Saints and I think Ross outsmarted himself with some of his quirky(desperate) coaching "moves"

No tag on Lachie?

Seriously Ross?

Lachie tore them a new one. Easily B.O.G

Also gave votes to Wilmot, Hugh, the Z-man and Washcroft.

Hippy and Zorks unlucky

It didn't stop every other club from doing something. And we still had the memorial before the game started. It was a bit of a bad look for the club, that's what i was trying to say.
I just don’t think ANZAC Day should be about being seen to be participating. Go to Dawn Service and lay a wreath. I reckon it’s sadly becoming a commercialised event rather than a day of remembrance and reflection so I’m not disappointed the club didn’t do anything, but that’s just my opinion and no doubt it’s unpopular.

I think it's a fair point, but i think the appeal of having ANZAC jerseys isn't a commercial thing, but you can sell ANZAC jerseys and donate the proceeds. You can do a lot of good in this round, at least that's how i see it.

I gave my votes to Neale, Ashcroft, Hipwood, Zorko and Bailey. Wilmot a bit stiff to miss out I think.

Glad of the win, but it wasn't exactly a great game to watch - mainly because the Saints were so poor and we never really looked like we were in trouble.

Thought Day was a lot better, and Hipwood was pretty good too, the latter having been in pretty good form since Gather Round.

Looking forward to QClash. Think we'll be challenged.

Same for me, but swap Motty for Zork.

(I may have picked a different ashcroft).
