I was bringing in Thomas all week but i've changed by mind.

There is talk on some other forums he is likely to be tagged against freo maybe De Boer. Wasn't confident with bringing him in after 1 score. So the decision to Gray wasn't to hard to change.

Heath --> Vlastuin
Wright --> Gray

Robbie Gray is priced at an average of 55, I will use him as a stepping stone to a premium in a few weeks times after few price rises. Also Gray is about $140k cheaper then Thomas and their scoring I think will be similar in the next few weeks.
Because murmerings on big footy is how Ross Lyon coaches - he's one of the less predictable coaches in the game

Gray cant score 120 though
I see them as both having similar basements ~60 whereas Daisy has the higher ceoling in 120+ whereas gray would struggle to ton up.

Plus daisy is a keeper option, gray is not

If its one thing iver learned this year is that regardless of extra trades its still safer to lock in keepers rather than stepping stones, it sounds good in principle but a dodgy week and a few injuries and your stepping stone has losr half the value you wanted it too and you need to waste another trade to drop them.

I've been burnt by all my stepping stones

Libba
Hoff
and
Wright

Are there any other DEF rookies to downgrade to besides Laird who might not play?

Vlastuin?

What are people's thoughts on NRoo? Haven't noticed many trading him in this week but he has a low B/E and has been scoring well. Thinking of getting in SJ and NRoo in a double forward line upgrade....

Agree Thomas has a higher ceiling but I can still see the benefits

- extra 140k for upgrades while gray rises in cash
- pies draw for next 3 rounds
- can trade gray in about 2-3 rounds
- is daisy a keeper after 1 score & change in role

You didn't get burnt by Hoff by the way you failed or were unable to trade at the right time

Happy with the discussion as I can see you point as the gray decision could fail, my decision is not locked in yet but leaning towards it

Top 9 Backs for the season?

I'm thinking: Birch, God, Heppell, Gibbs, Scotland, Hanley, Hartlett, Hibberd + ? Maybe Burger/Harbrow/Waters depending on availability.

So my question is Heppell + Harbrow vs Heppell + Daisy?

Personally, I'd go Heppell and Daisy. Although Harbrow could be a good unique. Tough decision that one.

Honestly don't see why people are keen on Daisy Thomas.

I'd rather go Westhoff > SJ in all honesty.
I think we can all agree that Daisy is underpriced, how underpriced is another story. But if his role continues to be across half back then he certainly has the scope to average 90-100. Was a bonafide premium a couple of years ago. I'm certainly not sold on him, and ideally would like to wait another week, but Cotchin not playing forces my hand.

I want SJ very badly, but it would mean forgoing a second upgrade for him, which IMO isn't worth it at this point.

For me it would end up being SJ+340k def/def rookie vs Heppell+Daisy. Much more value in the 2nd option.

And why basically no-one mentions wingnut Mitch Robinson. 99 last week and same price with a proven full year average from last year.

But Daisy averaged more last year than Robbo did or ever has...and that included a sub affected 33. Two years ago he averaged over 100 which is premo for a forward.

Im not picking Thomas for his new role across halfback. Thats just another string to his bow really. Im picking him because he is a proven performer for $400k

I'm actually leaning Harbrow (v Melb) option. Lets me play Evans (v GC) on the ground this week instead of Lewis Stevenson which I think is +points over Daisy+Stevo.

Can then grab Daisy next week if he looks good, or if I can scrounge up the money, a fallen premo.

This week i have gone:
C.Heath>Laird
Dwyer>Lonergan

Leaves me with 378k in the bank which lets me do this next week:
Wines>Watson/Cotchin
Neade/Stevo> Premo

Thoughts?

Any love out there for the cannon Trent McKenzie as a unique defender? $364k, 2 solid first games & will be fed the ball to kick it at all costs...

Kicking depth. When in doubt give it to the man who can put it inside 50 (admittedly Harbrow is their quarterback). Also maybe take a few kick outs to himself run 10, then bomb over the defensive wall.
