J. Kelly > M. Murphy
J. Impey > Zorko to FWD > Hallahan

It was all junk though, he's been pretty quiet the last three weeks. It's to be expected though, he's barely 50 games in.
Has had a small injury niggle though. I think part of it also has something to do with the midfield stepping up again this year. He hasn't had as much of a chance.

Ellis > Fyfe
Dunstan > Watson

21 trades left with $271,000 left in the kitty.

Swallow, Mitchell, Hanley, Suckling, L.McDonald, Webster. Langdon/Georgiou
Ablett, Pendlebury, Beams, Cotchin, Fyfe, Watson, Polec, Crouch. Kelly/L.Taylor
Sandilands, Jacobs Derickx/Currie
Dangerfield, Martin, Franklin, Fasolo, Higgins, Billings Lloyd/Impey

Still a bit of work to do but getting there. Will look to strengthen forwards next week with the 270k.

hey all, would be keen to get your opinions on my plan over the next few weeks. Ranked 4536 at the moment so the $50K is out the window but would like to salvage some respect for the year.

after my trades this week of McDonald to Cutler and Dunstan to Watson my team looks like this:

Swallow, Mitchell, Burgoyne, McVeigh, Langdon, Langford (Cutler, C Cameron)
Ablett, Pendles, Swan, Beams, Watson, Libba, Polec, Aish (Robertson, Ellis)
Sandi, Hampson (Currie, King)
Danger, Zorko, Martin, Rioli, J Merrett, Higgins (JKH, Lloyd)

R8 will have 12 players out pre trades so am looking at:
Hampson -> NicNat
Langdon to Def rookie (hopefully one of t curey, j tippett, b martin, a litherland, d gardiner)
Higgins to FWD rookie (maybe ambrose)

R9
POlec to Selwood
X Ellis to R8 mid premo (that i can afford)
Langford to best r8 back i can afford (Enright/Houli/etc)

r10
Aish to Mid Rookie
J Merrett to FWD Premo (Wingard?)
if money allows JKH to fallen premo like Roughy OR just wait for cows to moo a bit more

will leave me with 12 trades left and 2 spots to upgrade.

I'm keen to get peoples thoughts on the above plan and what i might be missing. I haven't crunched the numbers too hard so might be a bit off in my finances. also, i realise i'm going a week early on Higgins but really want the cash to finish my mids

(also posting here cuz i'm overseas on thursday and it's easy for me to check what i'm thinking on here.)

THX in advance

Not much to add other than moral support.
Ive got a similar team, similar ranking, similar trades left and a similar plan in mind.
I've roughly outlined/budgeted a week by week plan all the way out to fully upgraded team circa rnd 12.
Of course fully realising plans go out the window in this game in a day/week... let alone a month and a half.
A week might be a long time in football, but it's practically an eternity in supercoach!

Basically more of a balancing exercise- making sure I dont have too many cows or too many 'cheap' prems.
Good to hear from someone else looking over the horizon- not just from rage trade to rage trade.
:)

Only thing I can suggest is, what im trying too, is parker or similar in your fwd line over a roughy type.
Worth the extra few pennies I think.

Dunstan -> Ward

Great trade... in 2 years time.
For me though the reality is GWS ain't gonna win enough games for him to be a reliable premo mid.

Like prestia, will be a super prem once his team are winning more games than they are losing.
But not yet.

Ballsy option, but one not without merit. :thumbsu:

Not one for us sheeples though.

Mumford has screwed me over. Hoping he would return this week and to find out he will miss this week, probably next week and then the bye. Don't want a 0 on my field for the next 3 weeks, who is the next best ruck option, MceVoy? Minson? Goldstein? Or should I downgrade to Derickx and upgrade somewhere else...
I'd be going Mcevoy on current form. Don't have him myself but he's doing well in a team that gets a heck of a lot of ball.

Should I downgrade to Hickey who will score well and then I can upgrade a defender, or should I trade to someone like Minson or Jacobs or Mcevoy who are probably all year keepers...

Dahhh, no help from anyone :(
Big-picture looks pretty good mate - the only problem I can see is that you'll only get two games in from Hallahan before his bye, and he's no cert to return after that if Sewell and Shiels are back. Not sure who else you can throw in, unless you want to take a stab with someone like Honeychurch or O'Rourke. As much as I'm hoping Murphy will tank, he's looking in good nick, so put it mildly. All that being said, many are going with Hallahan, so what do I know. ;)

Done, but not knowing how much cash u have means a fair bit of guess work

Ahh that's true.. I have 323k in the bank prior to trades.

Thanks Mercuri Rising! Don't know who else to look into other than whoever is mentioned in these forums! :D But I see what you're saying, maybe I should give Hallahan a miss...

Mumford>Hickey and LMAC>Hibberd
Thoughts on these? Or should I straight swap Mumford for a keeper (e.g Jacobs, Mcevoy, Minson) and wait a week before upgrading LMAC.
Also, who should I get out of Hibberd and Swallow? Both consistent, Hibberd more POD and more proven, Swallow higher ceiling and more midfield time.

Dunstan > ward this week, or watson next week after his price drops again?
Ward is so cheap! At $480k right now can you see him averaging over 105 for the remainder of the year? His start has been quite solid barring his concussion game.

If you bring Hickey in he has to be a keeper, no point bringing him in with the possibily of trading him out later...
so if you think he can keep his average up (or improve on it) then bring him in, otherwise look elsewhere
Lobbe is dirt cheap

That's where I'm stuck, i think Hickey will score better than Lobbe, and I'm not sure if he will be a keeper or not, he has shown a lot and the only games he has been convincingly beaten is has been against WCE (barely any ruckman can score well against Naitanui, Cox and Lycett) and had an off day against Essendon, but has been very good other than that. I will take it if he can average 95+ from here in, as there is no stand out ruckmen like Minson and Goldstein last year, other than Sandilands who everyone has. Oh, and Mumford....
