Ok. That's different to me. I've got hickey & goetz. So goetz can go, but not this week as my def line is too weak

You could probably say the same about Cox though. At this stage of his career he's probably only one bad game away from returning from the two's, and it would be even more likely I reckon if it was a heavy track.

Yeah true that. My ruck cover (Cox this week) plan involves bringing in one of Lycett or Tippett as F6 though, which I'm not all that keen on

Might just go with what you said, chose not to have ruck cover from the start, no point doing it now

I'm in the same position. Just hate the idea of a donut when it's only round 7 and i have 25 trades left.
 
Mills + Kennedy to Smith + Cox + $430k + DPP ruck cover for byes
Mills + Weitering to Smith + Heath Shaw + no cash + no ruck cover
 
I'm in a bit of a pickle. I have Weitering, Rance and Laird all copping donuts this week. I want to bring in Josh Smith in the midfield and Shaw in def (seems like this will be the cheapest he'll be for a while). The only way to do this is to cull Libba or Mills now, bring in Shaw into defence who will likely outscore them both. I will also be able to replace either Libba/Mills with BCrouch on the ground. All my other rookies are still mooing with very low/negative break evens and if culled now won't yield enough cash for the Shaw trade. It's justifiable right? haha just hate to cull Mills now :'(

TLDR
Weitering > Shaw
Mills > JSmith
+$60k

I could consider trading out Davis instead for the mids but it means I will have to grab a defender below $460k which I don't think is worth it. Rich looks to be the only decent option.

I culled Mills this week, wasn't happy about doing it but if it gives you more points on the ground and the target player you want, why hesitate? Is this sound logic Big Footy board?

Yeah that's right, plus I'm able to bring in a suitable replacement on ground for Mills. Cheers :thumbsu: I thought I may have been going crazy... lol

Libba may score 15-20 points extra but think in the long-run. That 15K might be very important when you get down to the pointy season when your making your last upgrades to superpremos I'd cull Libba. He doesn't have as much $ as Mills to make. I have Mills and Libba but i traded Dea and Parish. Libba will go next week I think.

I'd think if it's an issue of niggle/fatigue, he'd definitely play v St Kilda because the Saints are a much harder opponent than us/Essendon, and he's likely to be rested v one of those 2.
 
Culling the excess DEF rookies I have in other lines this week and moving them back to DEF:
Dea > D.Martin
Weitering > J.Smith

Thanks for the replies. Already traded Smith in this week so have just the one trade up my sleeve. Actually thinking of culling Sheridan, moving Brown back and getting Cox. Means I have to start Hartley on the field. Just realised I don't have enough cash to go M Crouch> Jelwood. $184k in the bank.

I had the same dilemma, and ended up doing Davis to Smith, and McCarthy to Cox. Will upgrade next week.
