I can grab any player from Marc Murphy and under, mainly looking at Cameron Bruce and Sam Mitchell, who would be the better choice out of these two?

Both similarly priced and probably at their lowest price for the year. The amount of new ball-getters in Hawthorn is a worry, but so is Melbourne's form. On the other hand, Mitchell is a proven gun and with Melbourne's mids scoring so poorly (bar Mclean and Green) Bruce could fill the gap and be the go-to man for the rest of the season; started poorly but has seen his form increase and pulled a 133 last week whilst being dominated by Brisbane. :confused:

Dont think people need to be too worried about the improving hawthorn midfield and its effect on Mitchell. Look at geelong. would you not pick up corey becuase you are scared bartell, ablett, chapman, kelly etc will take his points. Whilst they might take some points from him, they also create points for him too. Hawthorn is becoming similar, there are plenty of ball winners emerging, that takes points away, but it also means it creates opportunities, and also takes the defenders attention away from one player (bet kerr would like that). Mitchell will get plenty of the ball, but you just have to be prepared to cop the odd 50 point game from him. Otherwise a gun, and a cheap one at the moment.

Ibbotson or Armitage?

Thinking of doing this trade:-

Dyson ---> Ibbotson/Armitage
Pfeiffer ---> Milburn/Goddard

Dyson > Armitage (though Dyson is playing HB, which might mean he will lose his tagging role, could score big this week)

Pfeiffer > Goddard (Milburn in a few weeks, price will still go down)

Am probably in the same situation as a few people, with Cornes out of my backline for a few weeks, ann Pfeiffer not listed to play - I need to trade in a back to avoid a 0 this week. What would you do - trade someone like Pfeiffer to another cheap backman, or sell a player like Houli/Nicoski, pick up a cheap mid then buy a gun back like goddard or milburn?

Here's my team (miuns rucks - happy with those), have $70K in the bank, 18 trades left:

(BACK) C.Cornes, Shaw, Symes, Ellis, Kennelly, Proud, Pfeiffer, Selwood
(MID) Corey, Cornes, Stevens, Mitchell, Houli, Palmer, Bird, Nicoski
(FOR) Didak, Pavlich, Deledio, Porps, Rioli, Hawkins, J Brown, Hill, Tippett

Am thinking Armitage/Wona/Ibbotson/Myers as cheaper players - any other recommendations?

Cheers!!!

i need to offload priddis as i have had houli and palmer on my feild . in doing this hopefully make enuf $$ to upgrade ellis to milburn or goddard

would james kelly be someone ud look at ?

thanks

Since nobody really knows when or if Bowden will be back and what his role will be:
Bowden --> Goddard
Dyson --> Ibbotson

Then next week with the exra cash:
Hurn --> Milburn/Gilbee
Rioli/Gamble --> Johnson

Any thoughts?

Everyone seems to be upgrading Ellis...i reckon i'm gonna dowgrade him to Ibbotson. It would still leave my backline pretty solid and i'd be pocketing 125k.

Cornes (Thompson)
Shaw
Macdonald
Gram
Symes
Mattner
Ibbotson

This would allow me next week to upgrade Gamble to Chapman with one trade. I think it's worth it, as i'm not losing many points by playing Ibbotson over Ellis. Thoughts?

You'll still need to upgrade Ibbotson eventually though, then it will cost you another 2 trades.

That idea just went out the window now that Symes is out. May aswell do a straight swap Symes for Goddard, or pay a bit more and get Burgoyne....argh

Chappy is struggling with a niggle...

Mitchell scores ok but gets a little too handball happy at times...

Hodgy gets my vote...

Tough, prefers kicking to handballing and tackles aplenty...

Crucial linkman for the dawks...

What else could you ask for!!!

:thumbsu:
the only thing is if i get hodge i wil only have enough to get a milburn gilbee type for my lovett murray upgrade but if i get mitchell i could go a bit better and get a goddard or a burgoyne

is marc murphy the real deal am looking to pick him up this week but also have hodge in mind would you consider murphy a premium?

Murphy is gun.
Im thinking of getting him as he is "the real deal"
I have Stevens & Judd aswell though....
Thinking Stevens ---> Murphy later down the track.

Hodge is defiently the consistant type you want in Dream Team.
I am thinking of upgrading Houli to him next week and downgrading Bird (Maybe) to Browne (Carlton).

Who are you thinking of getting rid of to get Marc/Hodge?

OH!
And I am thinking Ellis ---> Goddard as I have said 1million times..everyone think its ok and then I only have 10,000 in the bank??
I will do a downgrade next week to earn some $$

griffen so its definetly worth it. im leaning in the murphy direction mainly because judd and stevens wil get more attention and murph can do as he pleases also hodgey wil cop some heavy tags as the seson progresses

I think I am just going to cop the 0 with Symes being out, despite having the 1 trade left this week. If he is out again next week, then I will consider the trade as I actually think he will be quite useful for the rest of the season.

I just have a mountain of injuries atm... Priddis, Johnstone, Cornes, Symes, Dew, Symes...thats a handy bench :D (Oh and Hartlett is injured also!)

Spot on.
Griffen..well then yes it is worth it:D
Hodge does get the most attention from other teams and other teams have different things to worry about then Murphy.

Go with Murphy IMO.
(Hopefully getting next week; Hodge can wait)
