That's an unusual lineup with seemingly 8 defenders and no second ruck.

Yze said in his presser when talking about Trainor being rested as sub something like "it'll be someone else's turn to be rested as sub this week", which made me think of Lalor. With him named on the bench, I think this is likely.

could be mansell as sub to get him back into the swing of things after his injury/suspension, especially since we already have enough smalls, and mansell can cover fwd/back/wing if needed

just worried it's lalor, feel like he's too important, would rather play him and sub him off if need be rather than put him on in the 4th when the game could already be lost/won, and if that's the case, just give him a full rest instead

Go trigger

Really want both Raso and Mcarthy…or at least Raso…come on tigers don’t let them slip at MSD

TIGER REWARD IMMINENT

JAMES Trezise is about to hit a trigger to secure another contract at Richmond for 2026 after a decent start to the season at Punt Road.

The 22-year-old has played the first six games of 2025 after featuring in the final six of last season.

Trezise was selected at pick No.13 in the 2023 Mid-Season Rookie Draft after being recruited to the Tigers' VFL program from Tooradin-Dalmore in the West Gippsland League.

Richmond's VFL program has helped launch more than a handful of careers in recent years, including Sam Durham, Tylar Young, Massimo D'Ambrosio, Mykelti Lefau, Jake Aarts and, most recently, Sam Davidson.

Small forward/midfielder Massimo Raso and defender Tom McCarthy are the latest VFL Tigers on the radar of AFL clubs ahead of next month's Mid-Season Rookie Draft. Trezise now has 14 games next to his name and counting. – Josh Gabelich
Read this four times. How many more games is the trigger. Is he just writing sh*t and doesn’t know, or are we not supposed to know where the trigger is?

Or am I blind?

more good news.
happy for Trezise
each game he gets more confident and knows he belongs.
work hard and get rewarded!

Are you certain on that or just assuming? He makes sense as sub if we want a smaller forward line. There’s no spot for him down back unless one of the other backs is sub or changes position
Assuming they won’t do it, but don’t believe they will. It’s personal as well; I hate players playing their first game as a substitute. lol

also hoping it's macca as 2nd ruck, don't want gray playing fwd/ruck, would rather see him straight up fill in for balta
Would be a strange decision to debut him as a ruck/forward after playing him exclusively down back in every VFL game.

Yze also described him as a key defender in his presser and said he'd be the one coming in for Balta.

lalor will be sub 100% he was banged up last week and 5 day break. it frustrates me but im sure that will be the case..

Yep. Unfortunately it looks to be the case.

After looking at our team and the bench specifically, it looks as if we will sub Lalor. Can’t believe it.
Also I’m not really seeing it with trezise. He’s not the worst on our list but I feel we really need to be giving McAuliffe a go. Prefer banks on the wing with ralpshmith the other wing.

If Lalor is sub for Anzac Eve after he missed RD5 then I'm gonna melt
Do you prefer ham or salami with your cheesy melt?

I reckon he'll be subbed on for McIntosh halfway through the third.
