I thought id start up the thread.

Last time we played the Bulldogs was Round 9 last year and we beat them by 42 points. Though going over the best of our players is kind of disturbing

1. Goodes
2. Scheider
3. Jolly
4. Malceski
5. Everitt

2 out of those 5 players deffinetely wont play (Schneider and Malceski) while Everitt might miss the game aswell. Still im expecting a victory as the Western Bulldogs have been our bunnies for a long time and even though they have improved this year i still think the Swans should win comfortably.

Though i am still worried about our forward line.

I think the bulldogs are a different breed this season, its going to be another
tough scrap.Hopefully our forward line can perform better than last week.
Dont know about Davis though, his kicking radar is not working at the moment.
Can we afford to keep giving him chances? Or will he find his mojo, and make
us eat our words? On another note,i think we may have made a mistake recruting Spida,so far not a lot of value for money!

Quite worried about this game. After watching us against the Roos, I just really hope we don't produce any of those defensive plays. It was frightening to watch and isn't as effective as we hoped it would be.

I'm preparing myself to be exasperated beyond belief .. the 50 is a couple of metres away :p

SCG suits us, so I see no reason as to why we can't open up our playing style. I don't mind defensive play as long as we're also offensive when we need to be, or have our kicking boots on in particular.

This year there's no underestimating any teams from me, regardless of whether they're our bitches or not.

Guys...you've had the wood on us for a while but I'm heartened by the fact we are playing a more contested style of footy nowadays. You always seem to match up well on our key players.

Who do you see playing on the following;
  • Cooney
  • Murphy
  • Cross
  • Aker
  • Griffen
For what it's worth I don't see us having an ideal match-up for Goodes who looked pretty ominous last week, although no doubt Boyd will get first crack.

the dogs have been our bitches for years now. Its been a good run, aided by the fact we've played every game at the SCG or Manuka, and must secretly be irritating Rocket Eade like a small forward that wont tackle.

Key Match Ups are hard to predict.

Boyd on Goodes I would think, unless Hargraves or Morris have the engine to go with him?
Jack on Cooney?
Kirk on Cross?
Bevan on Aker? or is Crouch ready to come back in?
Kennelly on Murphy?
Bolton C on Johnson B?
Mcveigh and Griffen running around ignoring each other?
Lake on O'loughlin (and another quiet game from Micky)
Morris or Hargraves on O'keefe?

I'm not convinced Davis will be in the team. Matthews may get a reprieve and a run with role.

Matthew Robbins was a guy who always seemed to kick goals against us, but he's no long there. Will be interesting to see where the Bulldogs get there goals from now??????

Welsh, Gia, Minson, Aker... I don't think it will be interesting at all to see where the Dogs goals come from.

I am looking forward to this game and expect it to be a bit higher scoring than most are predicting.

Good to see some Bulldogs supporters contributing to this thread and not sticking it to Swans fans with "insert your choice of controversy here"

I'm hpong that it is a hard fought match with nothing to take away from the spectacle.

Hopefully the Swans can have a win or course but hope it's a ripper.

Agree with that. You guys are playing very good football at the moment, and even at your less impressive, still finding ways not to lose. The Swans are going to need to play many times better than they did against the Roos to stand a chance in this one.

Although we beat you comfortably last season in Canberra, the 2006 clash was much tighter than the final scoreline suggested. The Swans played pretty well that afternoon - but they had to because the Dogs looked very dangerous all afternoon.

Kennelly is super important for us. The Roos did a pretty good job of keeping him away from the play for 3 and a half quarters on Sunday afternoon. When he got into gear in the final term, the team finally found some urgency. Do the Dogs have a forward capable of/ willing to sacrifice their own game to keep him quiet?

I agree with Boyd on Goodes
Jack on Cooney?
Kirk on Cross is quite possible although Kirk often goes to West

Bevan on Aker is almost a certainty I think

I think Craig Bolton for Murphy and Barry for Johnson although Leo used to play on Welsh a lot too.
Lake on O'loughlin yep
Morris on O'keefe
