I agree with Boyd on Goodes
Jack on Cooney?
Kirk on Cross is quite possible although Kirk often goes to West

Bevan on Aker is almost a certainty I think

I think Craig Bolton for Murphy and Barry for Johnson although Leo used to play on Welsh a lot too.
Lake on O'loughlin yep
Morris on O'keefe
Yes I thought it was interesting Skystyler had not named a run with player for West, though I’m sure it’s an oversight. He may not be as damaging as in the past but I still want him to have a watcher and I think it's got to be Kirk.

With the way Johnson moves up the ground often I'm going to throw one from left field. Bevo.

Kirk and Ablett will probably take West and Cross between them. Cross has been the more damaging of the two so far this season so I reckon Kirk will start on him, though physically Ablett might be a better match.

That's not a bad option, especially as how these days Leo usually just lets them go once they leave the 50.
The worry would be when Johnson works from the square but that shouldnt be too hard to switch up when he does. Leo could play on another small and move to Johnson if he drags Bevan right back.

yes, its a bit early to be dropping West out of the key dogs, your right. Happy to give the job to NoG or Judy.

Welsh is the other one. A dangerous forward. SuperTed to the rescue. He is in career best form if you ask me.

Leo can take Mitch Hahn, who is an underrated player. Although the dogs will try to stick him to Kennelly's buttocks.

looking forward to it should be a beauty.

lastweek we had no bad players and should have no change. hopefully west is back to around 100% after some match practice last week. Not sure if johnno will play this week.

hopefully its a high scoring, exciting game.

go dogs

The biggest problem for us is going to be keeping goodes down to a moderate game on the SCG...he is a real worry and is back in form in a big way. I would be reasonably confident at the MCG but the tighter SCG will enableyou guys to shut down our runners more easily. Free flowing games suit us more than the Swans tight games.

Agree, but we've played at a pretty open game at the SCG so far this year against a Port side coming off a 9 point loss against Geelong.

I don't mind tough games with scrabbles, but I won't be saying yes to any games like last week in a hurry!

Morris usually picks up O'Loughlin from memory.

Goodes has given us massive headaches in recent times. We played him into form this time last year.... hopefully that won't be the case tomorrow!

Good luck Swans. Really looking forward to this game... a massive test for us.

Goodes looked like he was almost out of his slump against the Kanagroos. I know it doesnt mean much but Goodes topped the Supercoach and Dreamteam scores for all 44 players in that game. In afew weeks i think he will be in his best form.

We must kick straight today. This is a much improved Bulldogs outfit than those we've played in the last several years and they will put a score on the board.

I think we can still limit there performance but it is essential we convert our opportunities into goals. It sounds obvious I know but it is so frustrating when we don't win and our goal kicking is to blame.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Playfair goes today. He never really got a lot of chances with the cats and at 25 should be ready to produce some good footy if he has it in him. With Hall out of the team for a few weeks he has a great chance to show us what he's got.

I wish him all the best but am pretty pessimistic. I've never seen anything particuarly positive said about him, but alot of detractors. I hope I'm in for a pleasant suprise but won't be holding my breath. If he can hold a few pack marks in the forward 50 then he has done his job, anything else would be an unexpected bonus.

Really looking forward to today. It's a beautiful morning in Sydney, perfect football weather. Really seems to be a 50/50 proposition this week - if our defensive mids have a good day we'll win, otherwise they'll overrun us by what could be a rather large margin. Bevan, Matthews, Kirk and Jack will have to be at their dogged best.

It's time to don the guernsey and head down there. Best of luck to our boys in what looms as a crucial game for both clubs. Enjoy =)

Quick match-up question for you - who takes Minson when he plays at FF for us? (he plays 75-80% of the game from the goal square).

You were spot on CAS79!!

Missed quite a few that were very getable. Might just have been the difference in the end.

Sadly that was one of our best kicking efforts in a few weeks.

The Dogs goal kicking was superb and our tight play around packs was at least matched by the Bull dogs and Coony and Boyd were able to break through them. The dogs were too good and while I think there a year off being able to contend for the main prize you may cause a hiccup to the Cats or Hawks on the way. Best of luck.

Yup, and it could bite us on the butt come September.
Bite ?

I'm visualising whole chunks of our gameplan starting to fall off. Team doesn't gel, we don't have a functioning forward line and I'm getting that disgusting feeling of staleness I got after the St Kilda match ..

Excellent description of EXACTLY how I'm feeling (and I reckon plenty of other Swannies) right now.

I actually felt worse after the St.Kilda as we were awful and didn't do anything productive the whole match, at least with the Bulldogs game we had our chances on goal and perhaps could of snatched the game if we kicked straight.

It seems like we've gone from a team that often starts poorly (the St. Kilda and Port Adelaide games) to a team that starts really well and fades (the last two games).

We're just not getting it right for a full game at the moment.....and as we all know, there's not much margin for error in the Swans' game. Need to be 'on' the whole time.
