Not to point the finger at umpires - but losing by 4 points and the umpires missing the world's most obvious free kicks to Wardlaw and Hodder stings even more.

Lack of defensive height, tired legs in the end and some really frustrating misses at the start ended what shoulda been a really good win

On the whole its not the best win for Melbourne either though.

Bates Hodder O'Dwyer Svarc and Anderson i think are my favourites.

I love this team, they are just tenacious. I never thought I would be emotionally invested but I think they got me. As far as that game, love seeing the Umpires shit the bed because it’s close to goals, very poor, may have been the difference. Thought when Pearce went back we had to play a defensive forward on her, given way to much time. That and being the umpire and AFL’s pet helps. We got a
Good game plan though, we will be right.

I'm disappointed to lose but overall that wasn't a bad effort given the lack of rest we've had since our last game. Plus Melbourne really shouldn't be too smug about that win - I think someone said 8 days rest compared to 3. FMD for that sort of advantage they should have belted us by 10 goals! I think we are a better team than them when we are fully fresh. And if Bodey had managed the goal at the end....well that would have been all the proof you need.
