Never watched AFL games before about 2005. Anyways a few things I noticed. Dam Rocca looks great, also seeing pies in their prime they just looked super silky.

On the Brisbane side of things holy JESUS Akermanis doesn't look like Akermanis....AT ALL. Also just my 2cents that we got ropped of a GF due to Brisbane's salary cap allowances and other little cheats.

But main point was its proving very interesting to watch way back when to see the boys. Buckley looks sweet.

Also the game was so QUICK and play on play on than the absolute garbage we get today that passes for Football.

Just finished watching it then. My god it was possibly the BEST match I've ever seen. Umpires weren't constantly blowing their damn whistles.
The play was quick and goals were coming hot and fast.

Seriously today all the people that talk about "pace" and other such rot should really take a look at that game.
Pace and speedyness don't count for anything when compared to great skill, hard bodies and an ability to put yourself on the line.
Weak pathethic quick teams like the Bulldogs which are apparently the way to model your team nowdays would get absolutely slammed by the Pies outfit of 2002.

End rant in regards to pace....

Cheesy O'Bree looking very Cheesy with a beard, and Fraser with a full head of hair hey.

Scotty cummings kicking a behind off the ground from just outside the goal square, getting hugged by thirty year old drunks (apparntly i was the 14 version of them as magpie supporters, lol) that was a night to remeber, that is by far one of the best matches i have been to.

We were such are hard team in 2002, i just dont see how that team of basic hardnuts went through a period when we couldnt touch opposistion sides

My boss took me and a few others to that game. First and only time I'd ever sat in a corporate box. It was an awesome match. We had a great team that year.

I have it on DVD, along with the Qualifying Final and the Preliminary Final

2002 was an awesome year

Agreed. It was my first full year of watching Collingwood live and I went to just about every game. It was brilliant, the team was playing well, we won ANZAC day, the final against Port and the prelim against Adelaide (loudest noise 've ever heard when Pebbles kicked a goal from about 70m!)

totally agree with that.....pace is very much overrated if you a) dont have the skills to use the ball b) cant get the hard contested ball. Being able to run fast is one thing, being able to use the balll quickly and effectively is another - speed is just a factor that enhances your ability to win but it is not THE key factor

Mark McGough breaking his leg was a highlight and lowlight. Highlight the way he did it, Lowlight the result.

Will never forget my ex for not letting me go to that game coz of some rubbish anniversary.

Betheras with a great 3rd quarter. Buckley at his best. Rocca and Tarrant working in tandem.

Good times.
