I'm not calling for him to be dropped dude, but I completely disagree.

He is butchering the ball by foot.
He had his pants pulled down by Tory Dickson.
Last season, he showed he can be an intercept marking defender. We have not seen any of that this year.

He wouldn't be anywhere near our top 10 in the b&f at present.

Agree with this a lot. Watching him at the game he's overthinking things - trying kicks he never would have before. He's also suffering from the fact our midfield is so green that he's rarely getting good options to pass to out of defence. Watch how many times we end up either kicking to a contest on the wing or handballing to a runner coming through out of defence, rather than spotting a pass.

What's with the sarcasm Mr Moderator Man?

Peddling this for a while now?

Are you a former writer for the footy show or neighbours?

Are you really a moderator?

Sorry how many posts did I make regarding this issue? One post?

I think if you read what I said; Rough's form for a while now has warranted him sadly being dropped. Perhaps you may have read previous posts where I said was a big fan of Roughead and admire what he's gone through with his cancer treatment / ordeal.

No, he is not a leader as in the Captain as now that is Ben Stratton.

But if you mean is he in the leadership group then personally as a leader I would should show more "assertiveness" as you say IN THE CHANGE ROOMS NOT humiliating someone in front of the cameras and supporters of both clubs especially when new to the club!

As for Chad being fragile, I would also be fragile / embarrassed if it were me and would have said to Rough later in the rooms, could you have not made your point behind closed doors buddy?

Not sure if Rough would have been so animated to a player like Tony Lockett, Barry Hall or Mark Jackson like that? I don't think so, as would probably get knocked out by his teammate or later in the rooms which I don't think would do much for club harmony.

You may also have read where I was seething as to what we gave up for Wingard as far as Burton and two picks as thought madness. At the moment not a huge Chad fan, however he is a human and plays for the Hawthorn F.C. and we may agree to disagree but I personally do not like one player berating another on the ground in his third or fourth game when all the camera's are on him as personally don't like it. Some indigenous players need a bit of extra care is just a fact.

I may speculate that Brendon Goddard had another year or two of football left in him but his on field tantrums were not appreciated or a good look for the Essendon F.C.

As for the tipping point for Clarko that is just my opinion / speculation that incident would not have helped Roughead's cause in staying in the side, poor form aside.

Clarkson and co and the Hawthorn Football Club have invested a lot of money and picks in Wingard as future key forward for the next five or so years, so believe they would want to protect that large investment and make the player settle in to a new environment with ease.

Hope that clears things up Mr Moderator Man!

What's with the "Mr Moderator Man" bit?

Seriously today might not be the best example but you can see how good the Collingwood fwd set up is, leads and spot up with eachother inside 50, constantly switching and isolating.

Talent wise I think our forward line is capable and on par with there's.
Where are we going wrong ?
I rarely see us get one on one like they do.

If you expect us to win, lower your expectations and then if we do you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
I'm expecting a win. It's about time the topsy turvy unpredictable season actually worked a huge upset in our favour.

This is the game.
Axe has swung.

Different forward mix.
GWS's first game at the G for the year and a couple of injuries.

We'll win by 5-6 goals.
I reckon something clicked with Gunston in the last quarter against Melbourne and we'll see a much better output this week.

Aside from De Goey they really don't have that much talent in their forward line.

They're well organised and move really well. It works well for them most of the time.

I wonder if the blues knock off collingwood whether our win against them would still be arsey hey Judd2Sewell. The comp is bloody even this year mate. Make statements when uve thought about it mate

Look at the two teams midfields man. It starts and ends there.

Well including this reply, 3 times in this thread so far

I don't have an issue with this, it's the conspiracy that the half time talk to Wingard has anything to do with it

No, he is not a leader as in the Captain as now that is Ben Stratton.

He is a leader. He was the Captain, he was the Vice before that, he's been the leader for the forward line for the best part of a decade. He's the senior player in that forward line. Burgoyne tells blokes what to do, he's told Chad what to do, I don't see you potting him for overstepping his authority

Again, how was Chad humiliated. Exchanges like that happen all the time at footy clubs, worse happen on field. You're making a mountain out of a mole hill

Do you know what was said? If not how do you know there was anything to be fragile about?

So now he's a bully picking on smaller blokes? Mate Rough has been the glue at the club for a long time. He was the guy that used to look after the other players kids before he had his own, nobody has a bad word to say about him for a reason.

This whole section, where to begin, so now Rough is like Goddard and this is a career ending move?

He shouldn't have talked to Chad like that because he is indigenous and Chad cost a lot in trade and can't be questioned?

You are drawing so many long bows, creating a lot of drama, and frankly treating Rough rather poorly, which was my original point. Nothing you've posted has cleared that up as you say, just confirmed that you're going way over the top on this.

Okay no worries mate, I respect your opinion as was just mine and we may agree to disagree on this one as everyone's differs so we move on...

How about I keep my expectations high but don't lose my **** all over the internet if we lose? ;)
Reckon there is a better chance of Clarko rocking up to training on a Unicorn. What you propose is a behavioural standard never before seen on bigfooty.

I back LP. His predictions have been stupendously spot on historically

A bit simplistic granted They have a better midfield Adams and beams were both out today. They had pendels, trealor, wills and greenwood in the center today not much better!
What i was eluding to is there setup is alot better than ours, there forward 6 actually work really well with eachother. There spacing and spot up targerts. They often go short just outside 50 to a fwd and then hit one of the 3 deep options in the space opened up. It wasn't from clear entries from the midfield.

I think we have the personal for this set-up gunston, breust are elite with there skills so is wingard.
I'm lost with our current setup looks like we hack it in and hope to cause a turnover or stoppage.

Space implies quick ball movement. Something we don't do.

The problems are down field and our forwards aren't being given a chance.

It's also important with what you are saying to recognise we have had Wingard, Nash, Lewis, Moore and Ceglar spend time up forward this year. Cohesion isn't an overnight thing.

Will this be our first game without a 2008 premiership player? Since 08 of course...

Don't think so. Aren't Birchall and Roughy the only ones left since Hodge and Cyril departed? So given how long Birchall has been out for, it would be any game Roughy has missed after Cyril retired, which by the looks of it is a few. Most recent one was round 3 this year I think. Am I missing another 2008 player still on the list?

It was arsey. It should never have got to the stage that it did at half time.

Though Carlton are improved and IMO are a bit like Brisbane last year, who lost a fair few close games.

Not arguing against you but just want to highlight they were both taken in the 2012 draft ;)
Yep and Brand has played 41 games and O'Brien 48, pretty close on the opportunity scale considering Brand missed a year through injury
