Hoping Freo at home can get over the top of Collingwood and the Suns can upset Melbourne.

That would leave us a game clear. Unlikely though but the Suns are improving and can make a statement at home to stay in the eight. Freo should be winning more than they are. They let Adelaide run over the top of them last week. At home they should be tougher. Collingwood have had a comparatively easy draw compared to other top teams - last three weeks against Saints, Giants and Essendon, all outside the eight.

While she is not our biggest name, Dawes is representative of our style I think - smaller but fast and ferocious, lots of skill and fitter and hungrier around the ground.

She has come a long way. Sad we have lost her partner in crime Postlethwaite for two seasons now. And also lost Bella Smith to ACL. They are all of an ilk and would have developed well together.

We don't need help from other results....we are the BEST when doing our thing.

You can see that the younger girls have been playing footy most of their lives. They just naturally take that extra second or two before kicking to look for an option rather than blaze away. It's only going to get better as they play for longer before hitting aflw and the standard will increase accordingly. Pauga for example had the ball a few times where some teammates would have blazed away but naturally looked for a open shorter option. Extremely small sample size but she looks like a great prospect.

On Wardlaw she is just dominating. She doesn't quite have the hands of Davidson in the marking contest but she is so good at halving a contest and then keeping her feet after and impacting at ground level. Now part of that is that I think she's been so much taller she's never had to really leap at the ball so doesn't attack it quite as much in the air and get really up and above. If she did sue might find her marking goes up that extra level. But then she makes up for it by being so great at ground level the net affect is similar

And it helps that we have such a high level of base fitness that with only 16 players on the field there's regularly someone free to spot up as well.

Can just tell by looking at the team that our girls are an extremely fit bunch, in comparison to many other clubs in the comp.

I remember just a couple of years ago she was a one-effort player. She'd jump for the ball and then think her part in the play was over. Now, she's a beast once the ball hits the deck. Most of them are now, for that matter.

One name I haven't read much of is Heslop. I'm a big fan. She has slotted in seamlessly to this side.
Plays with no fuss and barely makes an error.

Emma Bates has been a bit off this season just seems to be fumbling a bit more

Brisbane is a force to be reckoned with

In the much-anticipated top-two clash between Brisbane and Adelaide, most expected a close battle, but it wasn't to be as the home side put the foot down in the second quarter to prove its credentials as the best side in the competition. The Lions ran in waves, found space, and neatly moved inside 50, delivering the ball forward 40 times – the most inside 50s Adelaide has conceded since round seven, 2021. Brisbane has now toppled both Melbourne and the Crows and is surging towards its second flag in as many years.

Must have been a close call. She doesn't take a step back. Love it.
In a way was hoping she would get a week off and keep her "cherry-ripe" for the next month.
Really has got back to her pre-knee days and has gone past Orla as the mid to be contained.
