On the first half there's a few you could argue.
Weller needs composure. He was terrible today, but obviously doesn't get dropped.

Ibbo - definitely in the gun. He makes a couple of major errors every game.

Potential ins would be Collins, Pearce and Logue.

I can only really see Ibbo getting dropped.

Would possibly bring Collins in for Ibbotson anyway, reward good WAFL form if nothing else, I'm sure they could find a role for him and it'd be fun to see how he reacts when Dusty gives him the don't argue.
I think the main focus this season should be on getting the structural components right and working well together, and I am not sure Collins contributes much to that. Our intercept, run and transition from the back are more important than what a KPD brings, which is why I'd introduce Ryan.

I think people are caught up too much on Collins being slow though and think that means he offers nothing offensively. He's not that slow (has reasonable closing speed) and statistically he's actually more attacking than Hamling. Shock and awe? I'd give him a crack because I think Hamling will likely be playing with Alex Pearce next year so Collins might help prepare for that structure?

tl;dr - Collins plays nothing like Dawson. Bringing him in isn't like bringing Dawson back in :)

if Lyon wants Collins in then I think Hamling replaces Ibbotson, and I am not sure if that is as good as leaving Hamling doing what he does, and replacing Ibbotson with Ryan.

Yeah but that's what I am saying about when Alex Pearce comes back in, Hamling's role will probably change a bit then in any case. I just don't think Ibbo and Spurr are giving us much on the rebound so there is little lost. If they were I'd probably question the idea of bringing in Collins. But I think Collins, MJ and Hamling are all better interceptors than Ibbo and Spurr, and are all better match ups on key forwards. They could rotate the loose man role (and match ups) between them - which I think they did a bit today anyway. If we are truly in a rebuild then players who have form @ Peel should get opportunities if players in Freo's B22 aren't performing well enough - must keep experimenting, Tabs paid off today, now I'm keen on the next one :)

Backline still needs sorting out. Still leaning towards out: Ibbo but that don't think that'll change much. He's terribly bad when the pressures on though

I think it's come to a tipping point for our defense where experience and marking ability is being outweighed by stuttered ball movement and turnovers.

Don't think there are too many people on here arguing against dropping at least one of Spurr or Ibbotson, especially now that Sutcliffe has come back in and he's not exactly the cleanest kick going around.

My vote's Ibbotson. Ryan as a replacement. Collins when we're contending with a taller forwardline.

There probably won't be any changes but if there were I'd bring D Pearce in for Ibbo. Tucker takes Ibbo's spot where he showed a lot at Peel and Pearce plays on the wing.

Richmond don't have a tall forward line so the need for Collins is less. He deserves a game sooner rather than later to reward his form.

no need for a change at this stage unless stephen hill makes a great recovery which is unlikely. Spurr has played very well against Norf and today. the small forwards had no impact. Ibbotson did his role. Danyle pearce put his case forward

Ryan didn't have much of a preseason as he spent a fair bit of it in the rehab group because of a foot injury and has only played 3 games for Peel and before the last 2 he had a hip injury and was in rehab group so he needs more time to develop at Peel before he gets a shot.

Really want ibbo out , but on the other hand I really enjoy current peel defensive line up , I am stuck .

I would think if Ballantyne comes back and plays well, Crozier might become an option again across half back.
