Hardest fixture to predict is this one. IF JHF has a big game and breaks the tag & if Butters keeps up the momentum - we should win. Without Dawson, crows will be rudderless, BUT they are playing for him. That emotional factor plus home crowd will get their adrenaline pumping - they'll lead for most of the night but will lack the fitness to finish us off.

I wouldn't be underestimating the Crows.

Despite their average performance this year, they've been very competitive and only lost to good teams like Fremantle, WB, Geelong by a goal or less.

Players and coaches can't afford to be complacent

I did tip us by 30 on the main board a couple of days back, but on cool reflection it's still a 50/50 game. The Crows have some very good players, as do we. We're in a bit better form, but that's somewhat countered by it being a Showdown.

What if the same thing that usually happens, happens again though, I want to believe Ken was the problem in showdowns but there is zero evidence so far to back this up.

Watching the joint presser with Nicks and Carr was quite interesting. Nicks was a lot less comfortable in comparison to his pressers with Hinkley last year. Nicks seemed quite cagey in fact and made it clear that if the Crows break even with our midfield tonight, it would be considered a big win for them.

Whereas Carr seemed quite confident. I think our new team defence game style will make it very hard for the Crows to score against us. I'm actually looking forward to a Showdown for the first time since 2020 - 2021 when they were bottoming out.
