Game Day Round 8 Showdown

I want to feel excitement, I want to feel hope - and the last two weeks have definitely helped.

But between the AFL as a whole being a shit product and getting actively shitter, the disillusionment of the last decade, and now the realisation our chance to have a bite at the NGA cherry is effectively gone makes any potential feeling toward football as a whole, feel redundant.

All that being said - fcuk em up Ports, don't blemish Carr's impeccable record.

Our mids need to be accountable tonight. No millionaire football trying to run fancy patterns at centre bounce to take the ball at full speed. Focus on winning contest, taking ground and go from there. If we win the field position battle we can win the game but if we allow the Crows to break even in the midfield we will be battling.

I dont come around as quickly as some others. 2 weeks isnt wiping away years of concern just yet. I'm really hopeful we'll see this new style continue to function, but also understand we could see some inconsistency in the game plan.

Up against their crowd and a team thats absolutely desperate for their finals chances, i feel they'll be up and they'll find a way to score enough to win. But for us to really push them all the way and even threaten to win would be a huge win for us.

Their efficiency is always a concern, really fascinated to see how our ball movement is and how well we defend them. Years of them scoring with ease against us has left me with PTSD.

Crows by 13.

We didn't win that game with one flukey quarter or some sort of magic gee up. We won it playing tough team-first football that left even Chris Scott in shock.

Against a team that feasts on us more savagely than Adelaide.

As the game plan has been evolving, you can see that it is something far different to the confetti Hinkley served up.

Does that guarantee a win? No. But it places us right in the frame.
The massive trend reversal we saw against the Cats was a huge, huge tick for Carr.

Tonight and our historically poor record against the Crows is absolutely his next test.

I literally retired less than 1 hour ago, so from my point of view there's only 1 possible result - a Crows win is unthinkable!!!!!!
