Griffen who has been poor and a candidate for the vest this week because of hes injury last week to Rockliff or ..

Sheed who is out for 1- 2 weeks maybe more with a slightly fractured hand who has a breakeven of 30 odd to Rockliff .. any feedback would be awesome as im reallllly undecided !

Go Oxley to Lever and leave it at that.

Rockliff needs to show something. Get him next week. Worst case he scores 120 and goes up 17k. He may well score 80 and not increase at all. Better safe than sorry like many are with SJ I would suspect.

If you want to move Griffen on this week due to his high B/E, look at Parker or Treloar. Having said that, Griffen has scored a ton in every even numbered round and missed the ton on every odd numbered round. It's Round 8, so he's due.

Your advice to me last week was to get Rockliff in last week.

Whilst I appreciate that not all advice will be correct, it's quite the backflip.

Aren't you ranked like 7th or something? Why you listening to Jiska? He traded out Dustin Martin after round 1.

Definitely doing Lumumba > McDonald

BUT I need the cash to make it happen. Happy to get Lever in, but at expense of who? Will be either one of Oxley or McIntosh.

The original plan was McIntosh > Lever which would leave me 17,600 for next week where I want to go Cripps > Rocky (but for him to stay within reach I need him to score <83). Leaving Oxley in the team (may lose a bit of $$) until his bye and then a straight swap to B.Smith.

If I go Oxley > Lever, it means I have to play N.Brown/Lever/McIntosh at D6 this week and definitely have enough cash for Cripps > Rocky next week and some more.

THOUGHTS?

I'd keep Oxley, has proven that he can score big and only needs one more big game to get his cash generation going again.

Just did Brown -> Lever instead of K-Mac -> Lever... Both poor trades money-wise but getting rid of round 12 bye players is a priority at the moment. Oxley out would have left Lever, Brown or K-Mac on the field.

Finally decided to make the following trades ...
Ibbotson>McDonald
Griffen>Rockliff

Really couldn't ignore McDonald's scores any longer and Ibbotson was always intended to be a stepping stone to a prem. Decided to pass on Lever. His 90 in his first game came as a result of him taking a probably unusual 10+ marks and managing an extremely high DE%. With a lower DE% and a probably more usual marks total last week his score dropped into the 30s. He's been given lock down roles in both games and over time that's not good for scoring.

Rockliff managed almost 100 last week despite being closely tagged and got better as the game progressed. He's bottomed out in price and not far off his best. This was the week to get him in. Griffen was always a mistake. His high 2013 average was due to a brief run of massive scores mid season and he's played in his current inconsistent form ever since. He's also a member of that GWS midfield which should be avoided at all costs. Griffen, Ward, Treloar, Coniglio, Whitfield, Smith and Greene are all capable of big scores, but they take turns to get them with each of them missing out badly too often.

The trade Oxley or McIntosh debate has been hot this week. I've made my decision.

If Oxley averages 80 over the next three games, his price will remain pretty much the same.
This probably won't matter too much if you need him playing, but if you don't need him, now is the perfect time for him to go.

So I'm trading him to McDonald.

Suits my bye structure, and gets me 30 points per week (based on averages).
This leaves my defence as:
McDonald, Simpson, Birchall, Hibberd, Newnes, Saad (McIntosh, Brown)

McIntosh still has some coin to make. He's a slow burner.
If he scores his average of 67 in each of the next 3 weeks, he'll rise about $30-40k.
I'll be keeping him instead of Oxley.

I understand that if you need to play either of these guys, then Oxley is your man. If neither are needed, trade Oxley.

Why is it irrelevant? His scores have improved massively since moving to the midfield. A role which the coaches have continually praised his performance.

I can't see why his fitness would be an issue, he's into his 3rd season not a rookie. So yeah i think he can sustain it.

If his scores regress to a 90 avg, he's still a keeper and a relatively cheap one at that. You don;t expect 115+ midfielder scores from defenders, so a 90 average is a decent D5, D6 score. Especially this year when the quality of defenders is down upon previous years.

2014 only had 7 defenders averaging 100+ - This was a year we had Gibbs, McVeigh, Hanley, Swallow, Deledio and Goddard as defenders. Much better quality to choose from than this year. The top average for defenders was 105 last year.
Yeah, 90+ is a good result from him. Time will tell if he can sustain it. Like I said, will be interesting if he fades in the second half to an 80-90 average for people who paid 440k for him.
I can see why people are jumping on, but wouldn't be surprised if it didn't last.
