Round 8 Trades

I would really love to trade Browne in, but being only a midfielder makes it a tough decision.

If he was a defender I would trade him in for J. Edwards, but cannot do that.

I currently have Palmer and Taylor on my bench in the midfield. Obviously won't be trading Palmer this week as he has plenty of increasing left.

Is it worth trading Taylor out for Browne? I immediately make around 80k with the downgrade, but then Browne should surpass Taylor in price within a few weeks.

Thoughts?

Bird ------> Browne
Dyson ----> Someone under 370k (Goodes is my first thought)

Edit: Just realised since I am playing a dud opponent next week so instead I'll trade Dyson to Browne and wait another week to get the most of Bird's value.

What should I do with my forward line??
I have 134000 in the bank.

Franklin
Giansiracusa
Hill
Tippett
Porplyzia
Rioli
Richardson
----
Alwyn Davey
Jonathon Brown

Already traded this week...

IN: Cross, Dew.
OUT: Hodge, Hill.

Now this will be my side for Round 8. Please give me ideas of who to get rid of because my team is going downhill fast.

DEFENCE: H Shaw, C Cornes, N Bock, M Osbourne, D Bradshaw, B Symes, M Scarlett. (EMG: Scott D. Thompson)

MIDFIELD: J Corey, G Ablett, S Goodwin, D Cross, C Judd, S Burgoyne.

RUCK: D Cox, S King. (EMG: Matthew Kreuzer)

FORWARD: L Franklin, B Fevola, B Burton, J Porplyzia, S Dew, C Rioli, R Gamble (EMG: Nathan J. Brown)

Only trade I am think of this week is:

Bird > Browne

N.Brown (Coll) > King, Guerra

That would make my backline

Cornes, Birchall, Newman, Symes, Shaw, (King Guearra), Gilbee Bench Hansen, H.Taylor

Very solid if you ask me.

SYMES OUT FOR A WHILE :(

"Symes then learned his one-week injury would now last for up to a month...when we found out the real issue was we thought it would be a good idea to take the next two or three weeks off...The 23-year-old has been diagnosed with ligament damage and must wear a "moon boot" for the next fortnight. It will then take the Central Districts product a further two weeks to regain his fitness. The 23-year-old has been diagnosed with ligament damage and must wear a "moon boot" for the next fortnight. It will then take the Central Districts product a further two weeks to regain his fitness...there's a lot of guys putting up their hand and the guys in the team are playing well too. So it will be hard to get back in but hopefully there's still a spot there."
may 6th :thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

looks like he will miss a couple of weeks after the hof match even and just to top it off he will find it hard to get back in as teams dont like to change the lineup too much when they are winning and they just so happen to be playing melbourne, west coast, essendon and richmond. not to mention the likes of reilly coming back as well.

hope this was helpful

Looking to improve my backline as it has struggled this year. I'm looking at selecting one of the Hawthorn boys that get plenty of it but can't decide between Guerra or Birchall.

Guerra: Averages 89 and has the potential to land some BIGGG scores whilst consistanly making high 70's. Takes a lot of marks and doesnt give away many free's. Has also improved $20K odd from start of season.

Birchall: Cheaper than Guerra and averages 81. Is more consistant and whislt he is yet to crack 100 he is also yet to do worse than 69. Again takes plenty of marks.

Leaning towards Guerra at this stage but keen for more information (injury proneness and TOG) and opinions. Also both players should pretty much hold there price tags if they get their averages this week.

What would you do???

Hi everyone,

First time poster on these forums here but long time reader :) I'm pretty happy with my side atm but I really think now's the best time to get Brad Johnson as he is looking to get some serious form back. I have an idea of what I should do and it involves my 7th, 8th and 9th forwards but I was just curious as to what everybody else is thinking?

Thanks heaps :D

Definitely time to get BJ if you want him.

I'm in the same boat and am gonna upgrade either Hill or Vince for him (assuming Brown's ok). Hill i've probably held too long, i think his B/E is 68 from memory but against Dockers next at the G he could well cut em up like Davey and Wonae did. Vince i think can still be a solid contributor but won't cost as much to jump to BJ. Still, i'll probly give Hill the arse for BJ, i have the cash (just) from a separate downgrade last week.

I'm about 500th and my forwards need some work:

Pav
Didak
Porps
Brown
Hill ---> BJ
Dew
Gamble
Harding
Vince

Will obviously upgrade/downgrade some in coming weeks to reach my preferred starting 7. Am keeping an eye on Neagle. Have been impressed with Harding's recent form. Him, Dew and Gamble are still rising in value.

Only used 3 trades and am ranked at 114. Time to start building my team for the rest of the year.

This week:

Bird -> Browne (stock standard trade)
Mattner -> P Burgoyne (or any other back around that price) - wanting to get off Mattner before any major further price drops, he's done his job.

Week after:

Rioli - > Rookie forward
Houli -> Swan / Corey

Follwing that, I'll cash in on / upgrade Masten, Palmer, Gamble, Tippet & Wonaman as I see required.

Still unsure about Bradshaw, he could be a keeper but the weekend showed what happens when he doesn't kick goals. Could effectively swap him for Goddard at some stage in the next couple of weeks and it's likely that I'll do that at some stage.

Otherwise the only upgrades that may be required are Porps & Burton, who are by no means priorities at this stage. Will hopefully end up with Volt and Chapman at some stage for these two.

Whats everyone doing with Bradshaw, was it just a bad game or do we need to jump off asap?
i think il keep him he had a very bad game last week but it was against geelong at skilled so we can let him off there but he got three 100s before that so i dont think theres any reason to get rid of him unless u realy have to

Just my thoughts

Well, for me i think he will be ok even though he did have a down week and has probably peaked. I have him as a backman and think he is still a keeper at the moment considering the back choices. The reason i say this is last week was a very rare situation for Bradshaw to be in. Firstly there was no Brown to take the pressure off him, secondly he was on the best defender in the league, Scarlett and thirdly, he didn't have the delivery of Black and Johnstone. I see Bradshaw averaging 75+ saying that Brown plays everyweek so there is no need to upgrade him IMO. Yes his B/E is very high and if i'm wrong, there will be trouble because he will need to be a 2 trade upgrade but really think i might be right. The delivery from Black, Johnstone, Power and the pressence of Brown just says i would be crazy to trade him, to me he is a keeper at the moment.

I guess its lucky hes a back because i rekon as a forward he wouldn't be a keeper, the backs this year are weak. I hope he can have a big game back.

If he was a forward in my team (don't know why anyone would have him there) he would need an upgrade for sure. Also i have a feeling he might get a fair few goals and a very decent score in Round 8 against the Blues.
