1. Got on the Buddy train this week, straight swap with Roughy, with a better avg. Buddy can only get better from here.

2. Bock out - S.Gilbert in, Bock injured, another straight swap for a better avg defender.

Steve Johnson will score you 158 one week and 47 the next. I can't stand players like that. He will average you 90 to 100 but in an erratic way.

What are you on about?
I've had SJ all year, here are his scores. 119, 138, 105, 87, 69, 83, 146

Nothing wrong with that.

And he does have the potential to bang 3 big games in a row together, which could be just what gets you over the line in the finals.

The mistake I've made this year (or... one of the mistakes I've made this year) is that I selected too-strong a midfield.

Bartel-Judd-Selwood-Cross-Gibbs haven't really missed a beat. With Rich in as last midfielder, he's the only slot I've realistically got to upgrade. Which is annoying, because come finals time I *must* have GAJ (certainly another of my mistakes ). Therefore, Rich must become Ablett. Which means I can't take advantage of the many opportunities now presenting themselves with guys like Cooney available for cheap, etc.

Dammit.

Instead I'm looking to upgrade forwards, and the only ones delivery are either already in my team or >$600k.

The other thing going on in my squad is I still have Ottens. Yes, I am that one guy who still has Ottens. I shoved him on the pine and forgot all about him, allowing backups to work in tandem with the Coxman. Now it seems he's had further setbacks and might not be back until 2014. Any recommendations on bargain-priced star rucks? Or should I just ride out the Ottens thing?

Still, 4-0, 16 trades left, I'm gonna do damage in my league come finals time.

With the Saints going well Gardiner could be a good option, even King (who is back in a few weeks)

Decent options, definitely, but I think I might use a bit of cash and try to run down one of those recently departed trains, like Petrie or Sandilands. Then just lock the ruck division for the year. Extra money, but Cox and either one of those guys is pretty strong.

what are peoples thoughts on Meeson to Pike? jst to make money and meeson is out for the year.

then next week T.Tuck to Sidebottom and Petrenko to Newman

With Higgins in my midfield and Ablett & Anthony on my bench, I will be trading Higgins out this week. I need some cash so will prob trade Higgins > Davenport.

But haven't decided 100% yet...

It will net you 108K and get rid of a player who is out for the season to someone who will likely at least play a game here and there. If you have trades do it. Just don't count on Pyke being a regular player for the Swans. I am sure they will want to trial Currie in the ruck soon.

Petrenko will be going this week, and even though Grimes will score well he is injury prone and I simply cant afford to take the risk as I already have plenty of injuries.

Broadbent looks like he may get a game shortly??

Anyone have any other suggetions for a Backman downgrade?

Actually, just wait a few weeks for Nick Natanui to play a couple of games then trade him for Meesen. Likely to play a lot of games this year barring injury.

I'm looking at downgrading Houlihan to Grimes to free up enough cash to go Beams > Dal Santo.. the rest of my backline is Hodge, Goddard, Chad, Lockyer, Mackie and Adcock.. Grimes looks to be able to deliver some big scores and should play the year barring injury.

Just don't know if it's a good idea to drop Houlihan as I'd intended to have him as a keeper...

Hey Guys - my backline is basically complete

Goddard, Cornes, Drummond, Gilbert, Gilbee, Shaw, McLeod (Rance, Dawson)

However, McLeod is giving me the sh1ts and lets face it he doesn't look likely to regain his old touch. I probably shouldn't trade, and I do have problems elsewhere in my team, but if I trade out McLeod for Grimes I could potentially be getting a higher scoring replacement and pocketing 200,000 for upgrades such as Otten to Power (this week) and Coughlan to Ablett (in a few weeks time).

Am I being trade happy?

Am going to trade Petrenko this week, doubt he will rise anymore in price and don't think he has a lot of job security. Am thinking of a downgrade to another cash cow and then use the money elsewhere.

Depending on how I'm going later in the year I will upgrade this guy again or just keep him as an emeregency. Which cow should I trade in out of Luke Pratt (Freo), Levi Greenwood (NM) and Cale Hooker (Ess)?

Adcock is pissing me off in the backline. Can get 25 touches and still record a 70. He's gonna lose money this week too.

But what if he became Gilbee... who SURELY cannot get any cheaper than ~$430k, and get record 100s with 15 touches?

Brilliant! (Or... sideways?)

It depends on the state of your backline/team and how many trades you have left. At least Adcock is playing, i assume you may have Petrenko/Broughton or some backline rookie on field not scoring? Mayb an upgrade could be done?

geez good options there.....

Id suggest looking at either upgrading or maybe going to Grimes.

Thoughts on Rance -> Grimes?
good trade :D

I am using far too many trades, but yet still had 3 donuts last week, because i forgot to have davenport as emg. instead of beams.
also had higgins and white with no cover.

Is white back this week or will pyke stay?

Am sensing some sarcasm there yet Petrenko isn't even on the field for my side and neither will his replacement (Pratt, Greenwood or Hooker). I will use one of those three purely as a cash cow for some extra coin to grab a premium later in the year although if I'm running low on trades they will be kept as an emergency yet i will still have gained 100k from Petrenko;s downgrade.

*Already have Grimes, was onto him from round 1

Thoughts on Rance -> Grimes?

Yeah,I'm liking Grimes. Looked the goods against West Coast and was efficient and recorded a nice score. Only problem is he seems to have a back problem and they are nagging injuries. But I think Rance won't be effective, at least straight away, when he comes back.

Now, I'm ranked 2169 overall and scored 2086 last week. Have 13 trades left. team is as follows..

Fisher,Newman,Cornes,Hodge,Bock,Hill,Petrenko(Cheney,Broughton)
Ablett,Judd,Selwood,Cross,T Tuck,Rich(Beams,Cockie)
Cox,McIntosh(Jacobs.,Spencer)
Pavlich,Deledio,Riewoldt,Franklin,Higgins,Ziebell,T Walker(M Brown,Warren)

**Beams is available this week according to channel 10

I'm concerned about playing 2 rookies in each line of field, and T Tuck has been a disappointment so far. I could get rid of Petrenko for Grimes, but I'm worried about "sideways trading". I'm not too concerned about Bock/Hodge/Ablett and Higgins being out this week, as in, not trading them out as they aren't too far from coming back. So maybe an upgrade of T Tuck? I think Rich has more upside and consistencey compared to T Tuck.I think Beams and M Brown will continue to make money so I dont think I'm trading them out. Thoughts on T Tuck > Sidebottom? Steele looked assured against St Kilda and will seemingly play most the year and then I can upgrade Petrenko > 484k defender.. Gilbee or Embley are the options or I can grab Davenport so then I can get a defender from 514k downwards. I can get Waite and have nothing left over, Enright, Milburn or Mundy.

Thoughts? Im kinda get tired of trading rookies in especially if cows aren't cashing up!

what im thinking is Sam Jacobs to Pyke ( i know Pyke wont get a game this week or next) frees up 78k

Now with this 78k im going to either do:

Mark Blake to Koschitzke ( once again i know that kosi has a break even of 108)
Cox is my 1st ruckman

or

Danyl Pearce to Cooney.

I have Beams starting this week and Ablett on the pine, if i had the cash i would do Rich to cooney

or i can do my deffence

A Rance to Cale Hooker/Grimes

then Houlihan to Gilbee

i would wait to work on my deffence but i have Rance, Houlihan, Cheney and Hurley a possible 2 0's in the back as essendon have mentioned they wont change up their winning side too much.

So everyone keeps saying. With all the injuries at the moment I'm not going to risk picking up a bloke that has had ongoing stress issues, especially back issues.
