Stephen May usually plays pretty well against us, so we will have to find a way to stop his influence. He may go to Charlie again, he played pretty well on him last year kept him to 1 goal and 12 disposals.
It’s also the game that Eric Hipwood blew them away in about a quarter of football. Kicked 5 for the game. Would love to see that again.

I drive up from the coast every home game, so these away games at Metricon are very convenient for me.

Hope I'll be able to grab a ticket. Has anyone heard news on access for members yet?
Victorian Pledge Members are no longer able to watch the game on my mum’s Foxtel.

Think our defence needs to be altered slightly. I feel like our defence is really leaky when it enters in our d50. Not sure how to fix it.

Need to tighten up our F50 entries on occasions. Kicking to our disadvantage and causing a corridor turnover is what equals a leaky defence for us.

Melbourne are playing very good football and their seniors players are playing great open football. Very impressive against Hawthorn. This game will not be easy for us. Petracca has gone to the next level and Gawn is in form. A danger game.

No easy games in AFL at the moment
I'd say Adelaide offer an easy game, but we've played them already.

Agreed there. Melbourne have a plethora of inside types rotating through, so we might get monstered.
How many of them are good though? Viney, Petracca and Oliver sound like they're doing well, Brayshaw and Harmes not so much.

They are winning games mate - very capable of bullying us. We need to learn from the Geelong game.

Clearances is definitely an issue for any team going up against Melbourne. While Gawn and Petracca are very good they also have way too many other good inside mids. Oliver, Viney, Brashaw and so on. But if we keep the pressure up, none of them are good ball users (by foot). Even Langdon on the outside is a poor kick. You shut down the receivers on the outlet and they can struggle. Our run and skills should hurt them through the corridor.

We were very physical against GWS. I think we can match them in that area, even without CEY. Their leg speed is a bigger worry for me. Even GWS, who aren't that quick, worried us on the fast break at times.

Stef has managed to break even against Gawn nearly every time they've played. I remember Gawn mentioning that exact same thing on TV once.

Will be interesting to see the level Stef is at right now.

I'm looking forward to seeing Kysaiah Pickett, I was keen on him in the draft but the Demons pounced earlier than I thought they would, they also reached on Luke Jackson.
Both look like they'll be good players but they did seem quite a bit like reaching. Will be interesting to look back in 4-5 years time

A few luminaries coming out today saying that right now Petracca is the best player in the game . Crawford said he's surpassed Damien Martin.

You don't really need a body of work these days do you. Just a few good games.

I thought Rowell was the best player in the game wasn't he ?
So Lachie Neale isn't the league's best player anymore? ;)

The media do like to move quickly to the next story. Lachie has had two quieter games in a row, Petracca looked very good from the bit I watched. Plus (I hate saying it) but he is a Vic based player so they love to give a bit more attention
