We are unlikely to go a hard tag on Petracca but I'd like to see J.Berry or Mitch keep a close eye on him, Gawn is the bigger worry though, don't want him feeding it down their mids throats, particularly from centre bounces.

The media do like to move quickly to the next story. Lachie has had two quieter games in a row, Petracca looked very good from the bit I watched. Plus (I hate saying it) but he is a Vic based player so they love to give a bit more attention
Clearances is definitely an issue for any team going up against Melbourne. While Gawn and Petracca are very good they also have way too many other good inside mids. Oliver, Viney, Brashaw and so on. But if we keep the pressure up, none of them are good ball users (by foot). Even Langdon on the outside is a poor kick. You shut down the receivers on the outlet and they can struggle. Our run and skills should hurt them through the corridor.

I'm looking forward to seeing Kysaiah Pickett, I was keen on him in the draft but the Demons pounced earlier than I thought they would, they also reached on Luke Jackson.
Different pressure this week.Melbourne have had two good games, they just beat Suns and beat the Hawks (who are not playing well at all). I reckon we will put them back in their place. We’ve played Port (W), Cats (L) and Giants (W). I prefer the standard of teams that we have played versus theirs. Not only that but I have preferred our ‘football’ compared to theirs. I’m surprised about the ‘jumping at shadows’ but I suppose that it comes from our years of inadequacy. Lions by 40.
Do people from Brisbane call Gold Coast interstate?![]()
Speaking as someone who once accidentally crossed the Belgium/France border, borders are a lot fuzzier when they don't involve your home.Melbourne will also be flying from Sydney
Speaking from experience of both, the Queensland-NSW is currently harder to cross than the Belgium-France one ever was.Speaking as someone who once accidentally crossed the Belgium/France border, borders are a lot fuzzier when they don't involve your home.
Except for that one period about a century backSpeaking from experience of both, the Queensland-NSW is currently harder to cross than the Belgium-France one ever was.
Anyone know how many lions tickets are available? We're on a mission to get seven.
Figure the late start on a Sunday night might means numbers are low. I estimate we won't get home till 10.30, which is late for a before school night. Anyone else heading down?
From what I recall, the Belgium-France border was still pretty easy to cross. The Germany-France border was the one they were trying to avoid.Except for that one period about a century back
Nah, they eased it up about 30 years later and that's when going via Belgium became a bit easier. From what I recall, the Belgium-France border was still pretty easy to cross. The Germany-France border was the one they were trying to avoid.
The blue car park is about 4km away.Got our tickets and snagged a $10 parking voucher for the blue car park. No idea what that actually is but sounded like a bargain that allows us to skip the bus connection from the train station. Anyone ever parked there before?
They're not going to open up the game by hand against us, we will successfully control field position through pressure and put scoreboard pressure when we're not getting it our way out of defense I thinkClearances is definitely an issue for any team going up against Melbourne. Just remember Melbourne only lost to the Cats by 3 points and had 2 more scoring shots than Geelong.Melbourne have had two good games, they just beat Suns and beat the Hawks (who are not playing well at all).
