Yeah it's still a rant thread. It's for those that are frustrated and want to get it off their chest, not necessarily have a calm and constructive discussion. Sorry if the terminology offends.

We will be going through the other thread and having a look at some of the posts/posters.

I'm upset, I'm frustrated at the result, but I'm able to compose myself a little better.

Upset or not, fly by nighters engaging in mod bashing will not be tolerated.

Spill your guts, watch the swear filter, watch the personal attacks, and try to remember that if there were no club, you'd have nothing to get upset about.

In response to medium sized post in the game day thread re coaches etc:

Re-read my post - I said since our first spoon in 02 i.e. since the end of 02 we have only had Pagen and Ratten. 3 coaches in 10 years is fine if the coaches are crap - you don't expect a flag in 3 years but you want to see real progress. The fact is teams who started their rebuild much later than us have surged ahead. Cold hard facts.

And the whole premise of your argument rests on the assumption that Ratten and our list is akin to the Geelong list in 06. The one exception to a history of situations where when a club isn't improving like it should, it is because the coach isn't up to it and the club doesn't have the right people in place.

So you hang your hat on the one exception in the last god knows how long. Your argument is akin to saying someone in my town won the lotto once so I must win it. Look up "optimist" in Webster's and there is your picture.

so those of us who don't have ten hours per day to sit on this thread, and who have an opinion that disagrees with that of a mod or one of your usual crowd, will be banned or carded?

Wow good to see you are so open about your "moderation" of this board.
 
Have been pathetic 3 weeks in a row. Downhill skiers unfortunately at the moment.

We have no mongrel and it's embarrassing.

Hendo, Jamo, Scotto, Simmo, Robbo, and of course Judd. The rest can get lost.

Even though Tippet didn't kick a bag, I thought Jamison had a dog of a game. Henderson on the other hand used the ball well and had a crack. Was shitting myself when he went forward knowing he wasn't in the back line.

Scotland went in hard but spilt the ball a few times, one of those rare games where he couldn't find any space.

This in response to guns' earlier suggestion I talk footy, re 2E's performance:

Absolutely, it will just add so much if I say he was crap, or that he fumbled, or was caught out too often or he needs to work on his awareness or decision making. This place really needs another opinion replicating another 100 opinions.

You are so dull with your efforts you are happy to go around and around chasing your tail, never liking to be challenged, having your little tete-e-tete with others who also feel it's ok to put their opinions forward and expecting the world to stop and notice their awesome individuality.

Well guess what. There is nothing original in this place - including me. I come here for info, banter and the odd thrust and parry. [edited - mod] That's the price I pay to exist somewhere I can glean a little info about Carlton. I was a lurker until it became too difficult to remain silent.

As for the flotsam having a go at the board and its moderators, suggest you get your nappies changed and get real. Everyone gets a say unless they are overly abusive or a known deadshit. Seems fair to me.
 
they are talking +ve thoughts that Murph did not go to hospital but sounds like the lad was in agony. Get well champ!
 
Everything but Hendo and Jamo.

Gibbs is scared of his own shadow, Walker was very fumbly and in turn horrible, Hammer seems to have listened to his hype, Russell was shocking, Kreuz constantly gave it to Dangerfield seemingly: just a horrible performance.

Being hard to watch is an understatement.

Nothing to say - its obvious as day light how crap we are.

All that needs to be seen now is how honest we can be in dealing with it and finding solutions.

More than likely we'll blame the supporters for not accepting mediocrity, and 12 years of rebuilding is nothing compared to Mick Malthouse taking pies to 2 premiership games in his first three years.....
 
We are the softest side in the AFL. Might beat Melbourne because of skill but that is about it. Saints v Dee game in the wet was way more tougher than any game we have been involved in.

Ratten's 3/4 time chat to Tim Watson would hardly inspire confidence in the players or supporters.

congrats thy- at least part of your post actually has substance. Not sure why you are attacking me so much. But continue all you like.
I guess we are at a critical part of the season now. Will be intersting with injuries to see what the MC does in response with as other posters have mentioned not much in the VFL to set us on fire.
Great to see Yarran back.
 
All I know is that if we keep playing like we have for the last 3 weeks there will be a big cleanout at the end of the year.
And that includes the coach.

It's up to the team and coaching staff to fix this before it's too late and the season is a write off.
We have played finals the last 3 years so we must have something decent in our list.

Other than that I'm pretty peeved right now :thumbsdown:
 
I think where we have been passed by other teams is in the KP stakes.

Our best KPP and we didn't even recruit him, Brisbane did.

Bower, Thornton, O'HAilpin, if we were to be an up and coming force these guys shouldn't have been having to be relied upon for anything but pinch hitting.

We made a few nice pick ups in the small to medium sized player department but our ability to find viable talls through the draft have been pretty average (rucks aside).
