Yeah I remember that game, no one else really played that well either...we're a different team this year and have a way better midfield. Which means, they wont be getting as much of the ball and when they do we'll apply more defensive pressure and the delivery want be as good, so IMO i would give Sentanta another crack at him but it will be interesting to see what ratts does in regards to match ups.

Agree Blues Gibbo we need someone other than fev up forward to stand up this week, dont think we'll c gibbs at chf:eek: but maybe its a chance for Edwards to come in and between him and fisher they might be able to help Fevolinko out. Waite or Sentanta could go forward if ratts decides to play Jammo on brown/bradshaw, so there's a few options.
 
There is no way in hell we'll win this game, simply because of our problems in the ruck area ..

I think the lack of having a decent key ruck rotation (esp with Leurnberger and Charman probalby being the best ruck-duo pair in the comp.

Also I have a bad feeling Jono Brown is due to kick a bag (always seems to do well against us.
Add the fact I hve no faith that the team as yet can string a few wins in a row, and I'm tipping Brisbane to win by about 45 points IMHO...

The margain might be a bit extreme, but remember we have an extremely poor record at the Dome, plus I genuintely think Brisbane is still a 4 to 5 goal better side on paper (Even with Cloke in etc)
 
FWIW as well, I have a feeling Fev is going to put in a dead-set shocker (I only think he'll kick a goal or two at most) ...

You know every time he has some great publiclity, he gets delusions of grandeur, and often will put in a stinker the week after he plays a great game (look how many times he's done this over the years)
Btw Fev's my fave player btw, but I reckon he's head may not be switched on this week.
Plus Brisbane's backline is underrated as well.
 
Player for Player we are equally as good if not better than Brisbane so we are a good chance of winning, as are they. Brown has been down on form yet Waite could do a good job on him anyway. when he kicked 11 it was a different story. Don't you remember the midfield that played and the turnovers we gave across the midfield and half forward. he had no chance that day. he would have kicked 11 on most. Turnovers killed us. Jamieson will match up well on Bradshaw. Those 2 wills till kick a few goals but i think we are better across the group in scoring options particularly in the midfield. It is a watershed game I think for the Club and I feel we will win this one and the recent past will cast away and the future will begin.

I don't think Brown is going to be the problem match up for this game. He isn't even 100% fit. He is'nt in as good as form as he was last year, we shouldn't be too "Brown" concious.

Its true O'Hailpin was beaten last time they played.

I have a feeling Ratten comes from the Steve Waugh captaincy mould. He seems to be backing guys in to do the job.

I think what he has done with Waite, Jamison, Bannister and Bower has been excellent and I thought that the last H & A game that as the game went on O'Hailpin was getting better.
 
Guys, I'm still very worried/concerned about the Ruck situation ..

Apart from West Coast and Cox, we haven't beaten a side this year with a standout ruckman, and Brizzy have 2 ..

It may sound ridiculous btw, but I think we may have to 'double-team' Brown ..
 
Ruck is the worry. Charman is going to crash and bash our guys. we dont have cloke or another big strong body.

Their Rucks and Forward line will prove the difference for mine. Im still going and hoping for a win but its going to take some doing.

For this reason alone I fear Ackland may be brought in for this game. Hardly worth risking an injury to Kreuze or Hammer...
 
Ackland will play, Hammer might play too, it would be silly to put Kreuzer in the ruck against Charman, so let Kreuzer play CHF or ruck against Leuenberger, and let Ackland and/or Hammer ruck against Charman

Also, he did it against Melbourne, so he missed Adelaide, West Coast & week off, this will be the 4th week coming up on Saturday, so if he doesn't play this week, he'll definitely be right for next week, but at this stage, it's looking pretty positive for this week, although they may choose to be careful with it, because he's such an important player.

My DT hopes TJ will come into the side and rack up 30 useless possessions. It's sad to think that our back up option is none other than Hackland. If JB fires we could be in for a long night, especially with our crap defence and T-Bird being out. Hopefully it's a decent game and not a blowout.

Have you actually been to a game this year, our defence over most of the year has shown significant improvement, Bower is our most improved player, Jamison has been solid and Waite has also had a good season, you should think more about your comments.
