I would be very confident if we weren't due a classic Dockers on the rise wake up loss. If we play like we have been the last month we'll lose by minimum 5 goals.

We've travelled to Adelaide a couple of times in the last four weeks. Those poor Dogs have only flown to Adelaide twice in two months and one of them had a bye straight after.

My concern is more about the Dogs getting on top from the midfield, the game being played mostly in their front half, and us getting hemmed in and not executing the long down the line play well.

They travelled twice to Adelaide and up to Sydney.

Sure, we may lose but I reckon we'll be competitive. At no point this season have we looked overconfident, we've just played a mix of excellent and sub-par football.

I don't think JL is going to let the boys forget that our last 10 mins of football we let a beaten side pile on 30 points. We've been professional and workmanlike in almost every game. We have shown up, done what was needed to win in all of the last 6 games without being exceptional (which is our achilles heel - if we go too well and start getting pumped up then we looooove to remind everyone that we're young/inexperienced/haven't gone to the pointy end for a while).

Evidence from the season so far suggests we will show up and compete.

I’d be playing the full match of the Round 8 2025 match v St Kilda. That’s inspiration enough. There should never be a shift to that level ever again by this group
