Sodomaco is 176cms and 77kgs so it's not like he's built like Serena Williams.
The scrapping of the development league was not about money when you consider it cost around $1,000,000 a year to run and how much money is being poured into women's football. AFL listed and rookie players are restricted to playing in the AFL and VFL so the lack of thought given to the impact of scrapping the development league was pathetic.
Where do AFL clubs play listed AFL players who they want to develop but are not up to VFL level?
.???
Are true project players not allowed anymore?
Very disappointing.

AFL listed/rookie players not up to VFL level can mainly be developed at training. They can only play in the VFL which is not good for their confidence and they know they cannot be dropped which is detrimental to their development. The scrapping of the development league is a double edged sword and has not been good for the HFC/BHH alignment. BHH listed players who have performed at a high standard are missing out on selection and the full list of 33 players only train together once a week because the players not selected in the VFL team train with their local clubs on Thursday. An AFL Reserves competition with only a small number of financially assisted stand alone clubs is inevitable. My guess is the draft age will be lifted and as a result the TAC Cup age will also be lifted. As a result fully committed, exciting and talented teenagers who are ready to play in the AFL and VFL will be held back. As Alite posted, very disappointing.
