Review Round 9, 2019: Box Hill Hawks v Williamstown Seagulls, 1 June 2019, 2.00pm @ BHCO

After a disappointing loss to the Magpies last weekend that dropped the Hawks outside the top eight for the first time this season, the Hawks are back on home territory to host the Seagulls in what shapes to be an important opportunity for the Hawks to get their season back on track. But it will not be easy for the Hawks against the Seagulls, who are one of four times sitting on five wins and are outside the top four only on percentage.

A win for the Hawks over the Seagulls, together with other results going Box Hill's way, could see the Hawks back up into sixth place, while a loss could drop the Hawks down another spot, depending if the Cats (who sit half a game behind the Hawks) can beat Footscray on Sunday.

While the Hawks suffered a second half fade-out against the Magpies last weekend, the Seagulls came from 18 points down at quarter time to overrun the Northern Blues by 11 points at the final siren after keeping the Blues goalless in the third quarter. Max King has been in good form for the Seagulls over the last few weeks, with the St Kilda draftee having kicked seven goals in three games (including four goals against Essendon the week before last) in the VFL, while David Armitage was a prime mover in the Seagulls midfield with 29 disposals and five marks.

Teams to follow.

We've been fairly inaccurate this quarter. Getting good opportunities but the set shots always seem to fade. Defence has been good as Willy have actually had the same amount of inside 50s. Miles playing forward and kicked two goals, Moore very involved. Roughy playing ruck/forward. Meadows our most impactful mid but has been butchering the ball.

BH: 3.5. 23
Willy: 1.1. 7
