Kelly's kick efficiency peaked at 57.5% for geelong and then has been on a steady decline since then after joining the eagles. He is currently averaging 47.3% for this year.

Here's some interesting stats of the 3 games that Clay Hall has played he's averaging 84.4%. Someone around Tim's age Josh Kelly for instance who plays in a similar role is 55.8%.

I realise theirs more to footy than just kicking but as the adage goes "good kicking is good football."

The thing is though with Hall it isn't good kicking, at AFL level he has about 1 kick per 10 handballs which skews the DE stat. Good handballing is still good footy though, get him in the side and live with the odd shanked kick.

Turnover festival at the G today.
My mob were not great.
What’s your thoughts on next weeks game Eagle heads?
Reckon you’re in with a chance?
Baker and Graham aka the traitors to run amok at the MCG?
Interested to see what you reckon.

We're in with a chance, but Tigers go in favourites. Without McGovern I think we will find it difficult to manage Lynch.

Tiges should win by 4 goals.

In - Shanahan - Out - A Reid
In - Champion - Out - Owies
In - Brock - Out McGovern
In - Gross - Out B Allen.

Sub - Kelly

Gross into the midfield, Hough into the backline.

Lynch will have a day out, as will Hopper and Taranto - probably Nank too.

Our midfield is non-existent and our defence will not have a single AFL quality key defender (it may contain an AFL quality key forward, but he’s pretending to be a defender while he runs down his contract).

If Richmond turn up ready to win, it’s theirs.

Why the eagerness to get Hough out of the midfield ? Surely we can give him more then two weeks to show what he can do in there.

Play midfielders in the middle - we have precious few of them but Hewitt, Reid, Gross and Hall should all be clocking as much time as possible in there as a priority from here on out.

Trying to make flankers into mids (Hough, Ginbey, Duggan, probably Allan and Hutchinson too) isn’t it - with the possible exception of Baker who can actually play well through the middle, despite being legally considered a dwarf.

B: Maric Allen Duggan
HB: Ginbey Brock Baker
C: Hutchinson Hough Hunt
HF: Graham Waterman Cripps
F: Ryan Shanahan A Reid
R: J Williams Hewitt H Reid
I: Brockman Gross Kelly Greggo
S: Hall

Sick of both our current ruck duo Flynn and Bailey, J Williams can have a go.

Watching the WAFL game, whilst I don't think his body is totally AFL ready yet, Malakai was the best small forward for us.

Did all the right stuff, was the most dangerous out there, if we're wanting to drop Owies (think it has to happen) and we want to reward performance above all else, he should come in.

Petch has good moments but all you want to see from him is a bit of mongrel and desire to put his hand up and he never looks more than 90% committed out there.

Long I'd want to get some confidence at WAFL level and get his disposals up, be a playmaker for 4 quarters at that level.

I'd argue Hough certainly has the Attributes and athletic profile to succeed in the middle. He was drafted as a mid and what we have seen so far suggests to me that he can succeed in there.

I don't disagree that the players you mentioned shouldn't get midfield minutes at AFL level either, but to me giving up the Hough middle experiment is just silly.

Simpson said during the broadcast that Hough was bough in as a winger, and played back out of necessity.

Backs:
Allen, Brock, Ginbey, Maric, Hough, Duggan, Cole

Ruck: Flynn

Mids:
Reid, Hewett, Baker, Gross, Hutchinson, Kelly, Hunt

Forwards:
Waterman, Williams, Reid, Ryan, Cripps, Graham, Brockman

Sub: Hall

Out: McGovern, Allan, Owies
In: Brock, Hall, Gross

Hough and Baker can rotate through midfield and HB
Hewett and Graham can do the same off HF
Hutchinson to spend more time at CBAs with Kelly moved out to the wing (Kelly can be replaced with any of Dewar, Hall or Grego)
If Archer Reid doesn’t come up give Shanahan a debut
Depending on matchups I’d consider Bazzo instead of Brock

This is our most winnable game of the season so far but Richmond are still favourites with the line at 10.5 points and they’ll be eyeing this off as their third win

No excuses for a non-competitive effort although McGovern out is a huge blow as we saw after halftime against Melbourne

Bailey got cooked in the ruck in the WAFL the last few weeks.

2 goals helps if you bring him in as a tall forward but if hes in as a ruck he needs to be able to consistently beat WAFL ruckman. Atleast Flynn can do that. Bailey struggles to get HO to advantage in the WAFL let alone in the AFL. It sucks but Flynn is all we have at the moment.

HEdwards is sore and hasn't shown anything so wouldn't bring him back Brock played well on the weekend and Bazzo has done well last few weeks on the Gov-esq zone off intercept role.

Owies, Allan, Kelly, Gov, Reid out
Hall, Gross, Shannahan, Davis and Bazzo or Brock

Davis sends Hutch back into the CBAs off the wing.

Gross forward spelling with Hewett through the middle.

Hall replace Kelly role (no I dont mean wandering around aimlessly and kicking to the opposition at every opportunity)

Out
McGovern concussed
Duggan injured hip pointer
Reid injured ankle
Allan suspended
Owies dropped for being shit

In
Jack Petruccelle for Owies
Rhett Bazzo for Allan
Sandy Brock for McGovern
Tom Gross for Reid
Lucca Grego for Duggan

Would love to have dropped Cole and Hunt as well but that is too many changes
The "Turnover Turkey " Tom Cole should be banished to the Beagles for the rest of the season.
We are better off with putting the next 15 games into the youngsters to speed up their development rather than persisting with players like Cole who have passed their use by date.
We lost by 5 goals and 4 of them came from Coles turnovers. He needs to be basted.

I dunno thought he's been pretty decent (sponsor bias possibly).

Debate on our ruck plans beyond this season aside, I think we need to be flexible on playing BW or Flynn depending on matchup. Bailey is weirdly more effective at matching the mobile, beanpole rucks like Gawn, Flynn better with strength based rucks as well as generally weaker rucks overall, Bailey goes overboard when he thinks he has an advantage.

I'm less concerned about hitouts (we'll lose either way) than I am about the other ruck getting massive ascendancy in other areas of the ground like on Saturday.

Guys Bazzo is next cab off the rank for tall defenders. His form is 10x Sandy Brock. Not even a thought that way shoukd he made. Bazzo is in and deservedly so

Williams was probably BoG on the weekend. He certainly wasn't 'cooked'.

We have minimal X factor. Bring in Champion.

All those asking for 6 or 7 changes wouldn't cut it as a under 11s assistant coach

Out - Gov, Owies, Cole, Kelly

In - Hall, Brock, Champion, Grego

It's a lot of experience out but other than Gov, the rest have been utterly useless.

Cole's mistakes directly lead to 4 goals to Melbourne and considering the margin was 5, he was almost the sole difference maker in the loss.

Owies and Kelly are self explanatory. Just currently offering nothing.

Hall was nest on in the WAFL on the weekend and despite a few awful disposals, looked much better defensively and generally looked to create.

Brock for Gov. Would be a good opportunity for him to actually play on someone who's not a Coleman medalist so we can see what he's actually got. Would be fine with Bazzo coming in instead but think Brock deserves a chance against an opponent that would monster most key backs.

Champion's composure and creativity, as well as his defensive intent, would be a welcome change from whatever Owies is attempting to do.

Grego in for Cole, because he actually has composure and can dispose of the ball properly. Prefer to see him play mid minutes though, so if Duggan's playing wing, he can go back and Grego can take his place.
