I really want to see Tim play as a HHF, he needs space and would make plenty of plays, and he knows how to find holes and open the field up. Allow him to get some heat off him and bring him into the game and hopefully more enjoyment after a goal or two.Ah yes the young midfielder that has played all their underage football as an onballer being brought into the Eagles side as a half forward trick hey?
Straight from Simmo’s playbook with Partington, Ainsworth, O’Neill, Trew et al.
Gross looked more than accomplished at the CBDs and on ball in general. I’m glad he’s seemingly getting a game but getting the square peg in the round hole treatment sucks for mine.
Make bloody Tim Kelly play the high half forward role and get Gross in at the centre bounce.
I believe either Flynn or Williams will be able to be way more competitive in the the ruck against Nankervis. We don’t need both as Jack Williams will be fine as the ruck support.
Changers I’d like to see against Richmond
1. Brock for Gov (concussion) with Brock on Lynch and get Oscar to play the Gov role
2. Shanahan to debut with Archer (ankle) needing to have a week completely off
3. Gross to replace Owies on the hff. We cannot have both Cripps and Owies in a forward line.
If Duggan needs a rest, bring in Hall as a mid moving Hough back to defence.
I want to see Harley match up on Lalor

Suspect lynch would be oallen man regardless of who they bring in.I think Lynch would chew up and spit out Brock
I’d be tempted to bring HEd back to play on Lynch.
Lynch is not fast, is a really good mark and a right meathead.
I was more thinking he would provide more value to the team ATM than Owies.I reckon Gross will spend a few more games in the WAFL to play that HFF/Mid role that Hewett plays. My thinking is that after a few weeks Hewett will spend more time as a mid as he gets fitter and then Gross slots into his old role.

Pretty much on point inmo - the coach has given a sound reason for Gross at HFF. Gross will grow into the game and the mid, meanwhile he'll be handy upfront. TK there is a good argument, but we need an experienced senior mid in the guts. TK could play there next year if he's still going. Some of these kids (Davis) still need another preseason in the gym.I don't mind Gross as a HFF - Ben Cousins started out there, it makes sense given his frame.
Few first year kids go through the guts against the big bodies full time- aside from the likes of H Reid, Langford, Wardlaw
Gross has got fantastic potential, but it's better to get some runs through the CBD, but not as a primary mid just yet IMO
Why would this week be any different? Some melts again later
Agree. I think it’s good a few of the newbies already have been exposed at AFL level - to show them what’s required. Why would this week be any different?
Mini is doing the right thing imo, trying to set the team up for the future rather than throw kids to the wolves.
Thanks mate.
