Zac and Cam ffs traditionally either both play well or 1 of them plays well.
When they both put in shitters it really hurts us.

Bruce had a great game.
Thank God for Lachie and Logan

Best 2 things to come out of this game >

1- 4 points banked.
2- Chris Fagan in his presser said Jarrod Berry and Darcy Gardiner will be available next week.

But he stepped up in the GF. Those centre square tackles broke the spirit of Geelong.
He did. But he needs to be able to do it consistently. Cam would have one of the most exciting and breathtaking highlights reel, but he just finds it impossible to play CONSISTENT football. I’m calling this now, he’s 26 years old and I can’t see his career stretching too far into his 30’s. If this is how he goes now, when he is absolutely in his footballing prime, what’s he going to be like when he starts to slow down a bit. Like Daniel Rich, the cliff will catch up with him quickly.

Bez, Gallop and Dizzy for Curtin, Joyce and one of Linc or McKenna with Fletcher going down back

I'd lean towards dropping Linc but its a very tough call
I’d keep McKenna in - he’s creative in the forward 50. Linc looked sore today, perhaps still carrying last weeks injury. Plenty of season for him to regain a place in the side.

I'm trusting Richo's research, but only Buddy and Jack Darling have kicked more sausage rolls than Logan Morris before turning 21.

The channel 7 producers research*

Would definitely bring Dizz back into the team next week. I was umming and ahhing whether he’d make it back given Ty’s form, but I think we are missing a pure lockdown, defence first type player back there right now. We get plenty of drive off HB, but we still need to respect the opposition and without him & Noah (+ Starce) we haven’t really had that too often this year.

Off a 6 day break this week, and another next week, whilst carrying a hammy you’d think he’d be a likely candidate to be “managed”.

The missed tackle count is gonna be a focus again which is disappointing after it was highlighted as a weakness from the Melbourne loss but perhaps thr night conditions had something to do with it?

I think besides Wilmot and Draper anyone that has started well this season has continued to perform well while anyone that has started average or poorly has continued to play at that level.

The fact that Dizzy, Bez and Ty should be right next week is the best thing to come out of tonight.

My takeaway is that Cripps just seriously loves playing the Lions.

Even when he is beyond washed up, he still winds the clock back. I look forward to his next outing against us.

I think some of the complaining in this thread is a bit much.

We were in never really in danger of giving up the lead and did have some good moments.

Some very sharp transition goals in the first half.

Might be the worst I’ve seen Andrews play but no cause for concern

we were pretty disrespectful to carlton. dont recall a game where we've conceded the centre of the ground / corridor from a kick in so often. just basic things that we are usually really good at like that let them back in with a sniff. im not concerned.

Highlight of the night was seeing Fages go off at everyone at 3 quarter time. Looked like he even gave the physio and dr a bake. Then seeing him walk back to the bench looking at the ground shaking his head. It’s great theatre, it really is.

The first 3 or 4 Carlton goals in the comeback was pure luck and no system.

How many weeks does Walsh get for the closed fist punch to the face on Levi?
I’m not sure if they’re in this forum at all but I had a few beers after the granny with who turned out to be Walsh’s uncles. They were quite adamant Sam still supports the Lions, which might’ve been the euphoria talking. But for that alone I wish him nothing but the best if he fronts tribunal.

On tonight’s game - just have to trust they know how to manage a season. I hate that we cut it so close each year but if we win the flag again clubs will strategise to time a season with no-effort games like we have now for years. Can’t help but worry though, tonight was dreadful.

On Curtin - has all the attributes and surprisingly slick with the ball. Was double pumping the air when we goaled, pats on the ass etc.. he gets it. Completely second guesses himself though in the air. I think getting him a goal would do the world of good. Can’t be picked next week but should be pencilled in this year for Richmond, Wet Toast and Essendon.

Lester was easily the best for the whole duration of the game, followed by Bruce and then Levi. People may be over rating Neale’s game. He got going when he needed to but was merely the best of a poor midfield. At the game it was obvious that some of his defensive efforts were fairly lacklustre. He wasn’t alone. Will’s worst game for a while, McCluggage and Dunks very out of sorts. Bailey and Rayner went missing for much of the game. If Bailey’s value went up last week, then it should have gone down a little this week. Fort was solid and battled all game. Better than Draper. Wilmot looked injured, Jaspa isn’t the player he was last year. Seven guys probably played their worst game of the year in terms of effort.

This was a game where the stars really didn’t win if for us, the honest toilers did.
