You realise sylvia is retired, Zac Dawson is still injured? We are not carrying spuds or passengers in this side. Freo are not 8-0 because we fluked a few wins, freo have been more attacking than previous years. You say beware of a wounded animal, well a fox is most dangerous when cornered. Thats whats freo is at the moment. Block us off and the fangs and claws will be unleashed.
I don't think you read by post properly, I basically said we have no chance.

But I'll definitely bookmark your post in case we do win :p

Really? Forgotten the Bulldogs game already?

Nope. That's a bit simplistic.

I honestly don't think not having Duffield was the difference there. When he came on he hardly set the world on fire.

To me, no McPharlin was the major factor in our disorganisation. Pearce performed admirably but Johnson and co were conscious of helping him out which mucked us around a bit structure wise.

I'm not gunning for Duff's head, I just believe he's more expendable than most.

Hi fellow AFL enthusiasts. We have a podcast over on the crows board that we record Tuesday night. We're looking for a Freo fan to join us around 10pm EST (8pm in Perth I believe) tomorrow night to have a 10 minute or so chat about the Dockers and the game. I've been led to believe someone like Seppo may be interested, but happy for anyone who's keen to jump onboard.
Still looking for a volunteer as Dirty_banchez wasn't actually serious :p

Honestly, after Mick's revelations today, I feel it would be morally questionable to continue my media obligations with your club.

I did however record a short reading of 50 shades of grey for you: http://vocaroo.com/i/s1upA69d1GHL
You do realise he was talking out of his arse to put Trigg in a position where he had no choice but to sack him, don't you?

Anything to distract player(s) who we are up against this week is fine by me. The AFL are now looking into the accusations from Malthouse

Cheers Micky

I have already passed judgment.

every year there are player/s who win flags that I wonder how they make the team
100000000000000% better than me, obviously
your Clancee Pearce & Nick Suban seem like this year's candidates

I take it you haven't watched a single game of ours this year ?

more you read into Adelaides forums, the more you see whats likely to happen

won't even be close, freo by 50+

As a side note, this week's game gives us an opportunity to have a first hand look at Jake Lever.

It could be a long day for the young fella but nevertheless we'll see what we bypassed at last year's Draft.

Yep. 3 games into his career, looks like a superstar in the making.

Duffield and Ballantyne (bar last week) have been shocking. Clancee has been fantastic, Suban has been below average but does his job. I've watched every minute of every freo game this year as have many on this board. It appears you haven't watched much if not none at all and are judging players based off reputation rather than performance.

What was Duffield's role?
One thing I've noticed this year is fewer kick outs from him, less disposals (with the exception of one or two games) and probably less efficiency as well. He doesn't seem to be our go-to kicker these days like he was previously. He's still playing a role probably more to do with rebounding than defending an opponent like has been the case most his career. Spurr seems to lock down more, Ibbo has the third tall role, while Sutcliffe like Duffield offers a bit more rebound. It's hard to say whether Duffields role is as important as it used to be. Fact is Duffield even if his defensive role isn't as obvious as some of the other defenders in our team is part of a defensive unit which is the best in the afl and he still provides good rebound. Having said didn't really seem to be missed in the first half against the Bulldogs. His role has changed slightly and he also barely made the round one side due to injury meaning he could be slightly behind to pace in terms of reaching top form. I'm not saying he's been performing poorly but I was trying to find a player that performed below my expectations this year. For me Clancee and Suban (I didn't rate him at all tbh) have been performing above my expectations. Perhaps a little unfair singling out any player as below average. Was just trying to find a couple of players who've done less than Clancee this year. (Which I could added a lot more to as he's been superb) As i think I've already said in this thread, I don't want anyone dropped at all.

Hard to say what most players roles are in great detail. Only the player themselves and the coaching staff really know what is expected. He stays in the team which means he's probably playing his role but was the sub once which could mean his role isn't that important (at least against the Bulldogs) but I could be reading to much from very little.

I have a theory about Duff's role being more putting him in the awkward turnover hole. It's mostly away from the ball unless we make a mistake out of defense, then it lands in his hands and instead of that player being a running mid like de Boer potentially turning it over it is one of our better kicks in Duff rescuing us from a dangerous position.

I thought Duff played well in the first 3 games of the year and has dropped off significantly since then.

In the WB i thought he contributed nothing, but just seen he had 5 tackles (equal seaon high) in a quarter so you have to be relatively satisfied with the effort there.
Against North he was MIA and at times i forgot he was playing, i'm not sure if he had a job on someone. (he didn't that i could tell, but could be wrong).
