Round 9 - Changes Vs Bris Lions

They wont drop Dick for indigenous round surely.

In: Clement, Medhurst
Out: Maxwell, Toovey

Give Goldsack one more chance and Clement in means he can play off the bench. Medhurst in means that there is another marking option downforward which means that Maxwell has no role to play - in defense we cant have Prest, Clement, Harry, Goldsack and Maxwell and forward we cant have Rocca, Cloke, Medhurst and Maxwell cos we will be too stagnant.

True that, Dick will play.

According to channel 9 news, Didak was struggling at training and Clement and Fraser weren't there.

Bryan and Richards ruck combo, imagine if it worked? Dear God, imagine it it didn't! No one has had the balls to even dream about it. Fraser is really struggling, apparently a back injury, but I mean who knows?

Unchanged?

What the **** is wrong with Medhurst?

He limped throughout the game. Maybe thats a dodgy knee, maybe its lack of match fitness. Yes Morris is a good player but Dids will get the best small defender every week.

Its just a suggestion to rest him......

Spot on, Timmy. Alan is not 100% right from his knee injury and he was hesitant to go up for a mark at certain times throughout the game last week. I think he could do with a rest but we don't want to be acting cocky or over-confident by not taking him to Brisbane. In saying that, Paul Medhurst might be the safer bet at this point.

Out: Goldsack (dropped unfortunately), Didak/Dick

In: Clement, Medhurst

Because his direct opponent kicked 4 that i saw. He was not accountable.

Normally Id agree but I reckon Higgins was exceptional and it would have been hard for anyone to match up on him in the 2nd half. Goldsack sat on him for most of the game but higgins is a class act and does not need much space. I reckon goldsack looked ok. enough to atleast suggest he might have a future. I would not hesitate in giving him another game but with jimmy set to come in he might miss out.

I've only just started reading this thread now, but gee, Goldsack...give him a break. He did **** all wrong last week.

The only way Goldsack will be dropped is for team balance...and I don't think it will happen. The kid was one of our better players out there on Sunday, and infact, was our 6th ranked player! He didn't concede 4 goals...for memory, Higgins got two on his own late in the game...and the other time, was because Goldsack attacked the ball, and Higgins just got the luck of the bounce, or got a turnover from defence and kicked a ripper.

Or because James Clement or Shane Wakelin are better players.

No one cares about his friggin statistics and ranking points and all that shit. Football isn't a numbers game. Player X could have 40 kicks and people would reckon he would be a star, what happens if 20 go to the opposition? It's not black and white like that.

Yes he did have four kicks on him. The one where he attacked the ball was embarrassing, he had the sit on him and should have punched it 50 metres into the crowd, he missed the ball by a mile. Would you rather have a fumbling second gamer go to the Gabba or would you rather have a two time All-Australian come back in?

I'm paying a lot of money to go support my team, and want every chance of seeing them win the bloody match. Therefore we need our best 22 out there.

That was his only mistake all day, yes it was a big one, but he didn't drop his head and kept at his game, and won plenty of contests and looked composed whenever he had the pill in his hands!

Good debut i thought

Therefore we need our best 22 out there.

This is a must win, we need the most suitable 22 fit blokes

If Clement isn't 100% dont play him, he is too valuable to risk, same with didak........we dont want them to do anymore damage

If Jimmy is fit, he comes straight in and Goldie would most likely get the boot tho!

Big test for Medhurst, got a reputation as a poor traveller with the Dockers. Hope he can kick a bag!

He will do well & if he has 4 shots at goal, he will kick 3 of em..

He will no doubt still be underdone a tad but will kick 2 or 3 I'm tipping :thumbsu:

Whatever he does on Saturday, he will improve greatly on in the coming weeks & he MUST stay in the side..

His reputation with the Dockers is largely irrelevant.

H did ok on our road trip to Perth (IIRC), so as far as I am concerned theres no extra pressure on him this week.

Dicky unlucky to be axed this round seeing it is celebrating indigenous players, but he has served the team well and I'm confident he will play football again this season. Good to see medhurst back in, hopefully he can eradicate our inaccuracy woes partially and kick a few.
