Prediction Round 9: Changes vs Essendon

Geez tough crowd.
Nyhuis huge until this week, would've thought he deserved a second chance.
Guys like Colyer, Wilson, Cerra, Brayshaw and even Switta have played worse games, more consistently this year.
He wasn't great, but a week ago he was praised beyond all belief. You've got to back him in.

Didn’t even notice Nyhuis doing anything wrong. Richmond attacked in packs, it was the midfield/forwards who overused the ball or turnovers. Defence just got bombarded and the delivery was about as perfect as can be at times. Just no defending the onslaught
Who did he play on? Hell A. Pearce got pantsed by Lynch. The delivery inside 50, whether it was marked or crumbing was just pivotal all game.

Blakely in for Brayshaw
Duman in for Cerra
Schultz in for Switta
Darcy in for Cox (I’m not a big fan of Darcy’s place in our team atm, but I think he would be handy at Marvel vs Bombers)

I think you might need to go back and look at a replay. People having a go at Freo bombing it in should see the Tigers high kicks into the forward line in their big move in the 3rd.

There was also a similar number of i50's between the sides across the game. The big difference though, was probably Freo's ball movement was often slowed by Richmond's pressure up the ground.

Nyhuis started on Bolton but after he kicked two quick goals he moved and stood Castagna for a while. However obviously wasn't on him when Castagna embarrassed Cerra with that goal.

You take marking away from Tabs?! Its basically all he does.
2nd for goals.
4th for score involvements.

As well as leading all marking, contested marking, marks on leads stats.

Providing a contest up forward, taking the No1 defender. Davis, Talia, etc.

He's our best performing KPF at the moment. Not saying much, but he's been better than Hogan, Cox and McCarthy.

Would you pick him if he didnnt have a strong mark? Its his only elite trait.

Would you pick BHill if he was slow?
Would you pick Langdon if he was slow?
Would you pick Lobb if he was short?
Would you pick Wilson if he had poor disposal?

The point is Tabs is an elite mark and if we can learn some decent forward structures and entries we could benefit a lot more from his skillset.

Also Tabs is an elite runner for his height. Why he generally starts to do more in the last qtr. He runs his opponent into the ground.

Elite runner
Elite mark
Decent shot on goal... historically.

Yes, OK... but apart from that?

Cerra is going no where, everytime he has gone into the middle he has made a difference. He is also clearly more fatigued but he's getting those possession numbers up nicely.

As supporters we just want shiny new things all the time. There is no way Duman in for Cerra makes us a better team, or North for that matter and its pointless for Cerra to go to Peel and tear a WAFL team a new one.

Also, thanks to you lot, I have to justify why Cerra is significantly better than Dow with a Carlton supporter on the DTFA board.

Lobb
Tabs
Darcy
Hogan
McCarthy
Cox

Pick 3. Our game plan requires a quick mobile team which means 3 of the above should play.
Lobb, Tabs, McCarthy. McCarthy's best game came with Hogan out. Hogan needs a break for a week or two, if it wasn't for his high price and reputation he'd have surely been dropped by now.

Lobb can handle the ruck against Essendon, they had to go out and get Zac Clarke ffs

For what its worth I, for some odd reason, read that as if it was a page from Dr Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham

Would you play Tabs,
In a pocket?
Would you play Tabs,
If he'd block it?
Would you play Tabs,
If he'd be more Burly?
Would you play Tabs,
If he could tag Hurley?

We know Steinfreo'd back Tabs in the air,
But would Steinfreo play Tabs anywhere?

opposition teams know that we don't chase so why have we got so many talls and not enough runners . We keep repeating the same mistake over and over again . Too Tall Too Slow .
out Hogan , Cox and Conca
In Banfield , Duman and Blakley .Emergancy Carter
