2306 :thumbsu:

lost by BF league convincingly and i dont care.
got outscored by half the campaigners posting in this thread. still dont care

what i do care about is that not only did i finally break 2200 but i somehow managed to break 2300
my entire team could be out injured for the rest of the year and i wouldnt care. i've reached the pinnacle of my season and whatever happens from here is irrelevant.
hell, i might even retire and go out on top.

to summarize, i scored 2306 mother ****ing points. come at me KP.

Score: 2187/21
Weekly Ranking: 28913
Overall Ranking: 26194 (28277)
Heroes: Newman, Dangerfield (C), Pendlebury, Zorko, Beams, Treloar
Villains: Shaw, Yeo, JJK, Heeney
Trades Made: SPP and Florent to Myers and Heeney
Trades Planned: None at the moment.
Trades Left: 21

Trades: 3/10

I had been planning to run with SPP to Myers as my only trade for the week, selections left me with 2 forward line doughnuts. Eventually I figured that even if I did cop 2 doughnuts, I was relying on Florent/Balic/Eddy getting a game to avoid a doughnut the next week, so I decided to make an upgrade, even though I was planning to wait a couple weeks to bring in another FWD premium. In the end, Heeney won out over Greene due to the fact that I already had 7 premiums missing in Round 13 against 5 missing in Round 11. Even still it is going to be very tight getting 18 on field in Round 11.

Defence: 8/10

Nic Newman followed up his magnificent 151 with another good score; ably supported by EVW and Berry continue to perform well with a pair of 75's, and Adams and Laird are consistently very good, but Heath Shaw was again disappointing.

Midfield: 8/10

Captain Patrick Dangerfield led from the front, his highest score of the season equaling the highest score for Sensationally Poor set by Nic Newman the week before. Scott Pendlebury redeemed himself; Adam Treloar and Dayne Beams returned from their breaks with a bang; Beams and Zorko managing their highest scores of the season; Barrett on the bench managed the same - but Marcus Bontempelli had a down week, and Nat Fyfe is consistently below expectation.

Rucks: 7.5/10

Nice tons from Sandilands and Nankervis in the absence of Witts.

Forwards: 1.5/10

Another forward line doughnut; for the third week in a row now. Dahlhaus top scored with 90... 5 "Premiums" could only average 77.2 between them. I DEMAND 1000+ points from the forward line next week. BEFORE VC/C.

Yeah, I'll be lucky for 500...

Overall: 5.5/10

Comments:

A slight upturn and I did manage my third best score of the season despite the doughnut, and there are good things to look forward to with the performance of some of the rookies helping their cash generation, but the team really needs to kick into gear at the same time. If I am to get anything out of the season, I need to go on a run with big scores over the next few weeks.

Hopefully I have a healthy trade balance that might swing results in my favour.

Went up about 8000 rankings.
8498 overall now. Happy days.

Pure speculation this...

This year it seems like there's a lot of games with big momentum shifts and teams coming back from big deficits. What this seems to mean is that CD are (quite heavily) adjusting the weighting down on the scores in previous quarters while the game is in progress. They need to do this so each games total points allocated ends up adding up to the 3300 total.

Take our woeful capitulation to the Pies last night as an example. Mitchell had a huge first term and because we built up a massive lead, SC decides that the Hawks have got this one in the bag and weight the quarter heavily to reward our guys who jumped out of the blocks and "won" us the game. Then lo and behold the Pies come storming back in the 3rd. Then SC realise that the 1st quarter actually meant f all and gradually the first quarter weighting comes down and down as the Pies get closer. They have to do this so they can appropriately reward the pies players that drive the comeback. So even though Mitchell keeps racking up the disposals in the 3rd term and keeps earning points, every couple of minutes he loses a small portion from the points he earned in the first half as the Pies pile on the goals and the weighting on the early part of the game continues to diminish.

That's my theory anyway. Would probably also explain Doc today.
Not a bad write up. The whole thing is extremely frustrating with how its not cut and dry. I was watching stef martin a couple of weeks ago and he was on 60. He took a contested intercept mark and handballed off. This was in the 2nd quarter. CD moved him to 61.

Surely that play is still worth the same amount of points every time its done. Or else what's the point of having a scoring system for certain things like marks, kicks etc...

Nice score of 2305 second highest in my cash league unfortunately the guy I was playing had the highest and nutted me by 7 points. Gets me up to 820 overall but Inhave not even looked at the bye fixture do probably heading for a major fall.

Horrible round.

Scored 2147 with Danger as C. Only had 3 rookies playing... 2 of which scored in the 90's. My premo's are reaally hurting me badly. Shaw and JJ have been failures so far, none of my "full premo" forwards managed to score triple figures... just terrible!

Macrae 84
Heeney 69

Can you get a bigger gimp brigade than that in one position?

Newman, Barrett, Taranto and Berry solid and all scored better than JJK, Yeo and Greene who underperformed.
Overall went up to 1177, but 742pts from lead.
