I grew up in Brunswick, it was working class and full of people of different backgrounds, ethnicities, races etc. It's now almost homogeneously white hipster cockroaches, people who still go to uni in their 30s completing their lesbian abstract art degrees and other forms of useless pond scum. Ironically, these self-proclaimed champions of diversity have annihilated the cultural diversity of the suburb and pushed out the working class which was once the bread and butter of the actual, real left. This left cared about workers rights and not about screeching about which 800 genres people should be addressed as, this new left who look down on the working class today as uncultured bogans worthy of scorn and derision.
