the irrelevant round...hope they play the national anthem

This is the least exciting round for some time. So much so that St. Kilda v Bulldogs is probably the 3rd most interesting contest after Pies Swans and Tigers Dons.

I have a feeling that Brisbane v Carlton will be a decent contest.

Alternatively, you could write that thesis on the paranoia and neuroses of supporters who can't accept neutrals picking their team to win. :p
I can accept it. I just am honest enough to accept that it isn't enthusiasm for my team that drives their choice so much as an understandable loathing of the red and black. Actually, at an awards ceremony I was at someone was awarded a PhD for a thesis entitled: "The effect of divided attention on tripping whilst walking". So i have to admit that, by comparison, your suggestion is a somewhat more substantial area of study.

Sometimes the rounds that look boring on paper turn out to have a few crackers.

I still have no faith in Brisbane to play the way they did yesterday consistently, could see Carlton blowing them away.

They were pretty good against West Coast though so it's possible they really have finally found form.

I know it's off topic but this does not surprise me. I think universities are at a low watermark for intelligence and creative and independent thinking. All of which has been on a slow decline since the feminist takeover two decades ago.

Now someone is just being stupid - 43k to a Roos game against a non-Victorian side. There will nearly be more Adelaide fans than Roos fans to this game.

What odds you giving for Roos to win by 107?

Are you serious? There probably won't even be 1000 crows fans there.

Kinda broke now you mean

I probably lost a couple hundred, and only won a handful of times.
I would only put on 10-20 bucks at a time.
i don't have a good enough income to gamble anyway lol.
Gambling is a waste of time and money IMO.

How does that counteract the claim that there will nearly be more Adelaide fans?

cracking round comming up.

I honestly cannot believe the number tipping Richmond: I truly think were 30% chance in that game. Essendon bouncing back angry from a loss in a high skilled game, Richmond comming off the back of a scrappy win in a low skilled game....

What doesn't surprise me in this thread - that neutrals are mostly picking Richmond despite Essendon being favourites. You could write a PhD thesis on the pre-emptive schadenfreud involved,
What surprises me is that Tigers and Bombers supporters are uniformly predicting a loss for their teams. It reads a bit uncomfortably like pollies competing before an election for underdog status.
Stop it immediately!
Tiges by 20 points.
Seriously though, Dreamtime has been great recently and it should be a cracker game.

Absolutely agree with you. People seem to think that tipping their own team brings bad luck.

I think Richmond match up well V Essendon and are a great chance.

Attendance? Top 8 Richmond hosting top 4 Essendon on Saturday? 85,000.

Way off topic, but I think you have the wrong culprit.
Universities changed their very reason for being about two decades ago with the Button reforms, strengthened under the Howard government.
A university education now is all about preparing compliant little drones for the workplace rather than about educating and encouraging independent critical thinking. And universities are all about marketing rather than educating.
